a set a day...#7...

wow...
after this post, we're half way thru the new stamp set reveals...
YIPPEE!
this has been so much FUN...

A MILLION THANKS for all the wonderful comments...
I sincerely appreciate each & every one of them...

today is another of the small sets...
that leaves one more small set after this...
& it's a flipping blast...
I can't wait to show you, because it has 2 coordinating art parts...
OMG! phew...gets me sooooo excited...

ok, back to today's rubber fun...

this set is called...
ART IN BLOOM...
Rick named this set...
just thought you should know that tidbit...

let's begin with the scallop border...
I am TOTALLY addicted to scallops...
I didn't realize it until I looked @ my lineup of CHA projects and noticed it...
most of them have a scallop of some sort...
very interesting...
hello...
take a look @ the stamp storage sheets...
scallops!
duh...why did I not see that before?

anyway, that's why I designed this scallop border...
it can be stamped vertically or horizontally...

the little dots in the center make is very easy to add a bit of hand stitching...
just follow the evenly spaced holes...

even if you don't normally sew,
it couldn't be easier...

the holes also make it easy to add perfectly spaced pearls..

the border size is good for ATC's...

the solid flower on the left was designed to fit our current flowers...
it fits several of them...

it can also be used alone with other stems...
or...
stamped multiple times,
it makes a cool background stamp...
I want to emboss it...
I've been wanting something like this for a long time...

I LOVE this next flower...
it's about 4 inches tall...
I LOVE the postal center...
it fits a circle punch...

the center is the perfect size for the those little cutouts from the art parts spools...

you can either press the little circle onto the inked stamp or stamp it on a scrap, punch the circle & glue it to the art part...
save those scraps to make quick & easy flower centers!

the flower can be masked off & the stem can be used with other flowers...
or just the opposite...
use just the flower with other stems...

it's fun to stamp on grunge & layer...
like this...

stop the press!
could that possibly be another new art part?
YOU BET!

I flippin LOVE the saying...
I LOVE the font...
I LOVE what it says...
what else can I say...
I totally LOVE it...

"specimen" fits with lots of other stamps...
evidence of art etc...
it too is sized for ATC's...

and...
thank God...
UPS understands that this REALLY IS...
EXTREMELY URGENT...
it sure is...

it was FULL of...
ART PARTS...
be still my heart...

7 down...
7 to go...

stop back tomorrow...
not sure what I'll show...
maybe___ or possibly _____???

I hope your Sunday is FULL of ART!

Rick is off to the grocery so that I can...
head to the studio to...

make art!
wendy
ps...I get a 3 hour lunch break today...
GO BEARS!

a set a day....#6...

it's Saturday...
small Saturday...

Today's new stamp set is one of the 3 small sets...

it's called REGAL ART...

this set was designed...

by POPULAR REQUEST...

to work with the 2 "queen" stamps that we have...
apparently you like the queens as much as I do...
I think they're funky & fun...

and with that special ROYAL UK wedding coming in April...
THE Prince just might need a set to give to his bride...
or maybe not...

as a reminder...
here' s the large queen...

and the mini queen...

ok...starting @ the top...

I like the silhouette...
she has an attitude...
I like that!
and I can hear her saying any of these things...

the crown from the mini queen is a perfect fit...

she can be kissed onto a background stamp for a subtle image too...
I see a whole mini book
about being REGAL...

I'll stamp the crown on the silhouette...
and above sayings...
and I plan to stamp it multiple times as a border...
it's fun to stamp it near your signature too...
and it's easy to accent with little rhinestones...

I flat out LOVE the sayings...
they're a bit funny & funky...

I left the words far enough apart so that they can easily be cut out for a "ransom" note effect...

the words can also be combined with words from other sayings...
I got "ransom notes" on my brain...

WARNING is probably my favorite...
It will be fun to mask off the bottom line & just use WARNING...
I see lots of fun uses for that...

"just address me" makes me laugh...
a simple statement that gets right to the point...
no beating around the bush...
tell them how you NEED to be treated...

so, that's REGAL ART...
I like that it works with the queens...
giving us more options...

as I mentioned yesterday, Ted is in Texas @ a convention...

he sent me these photos of the BRAND NEW Stampers Anonymous booth...
I thought you might enjoy seeing them...

here's my section...
the signs @ the top announce that
new stamps are coming soon...
yippee!
so that's why you see empty spots
on the top row...

look how yummy this is...

ALL tim's dies and embossing folders...
and the Ranger display is loaded with inky goodness...
what a beautiful sight...

so, if you're NEEDING a rubber fix...
or some tim goodies...
or Ranger ESSENTIALS...
and you live in Texas...

stop in & visit with Ted @ the Mesquite show.
I GUARANTEE you will enjoy his demo...

take care...
have an arty Saturday...

I'm off to...
make (CHA) art...
wendy
ps...see you tomorrow for set #7...
it's another small set called...art in bloom
now there's a hint...

a set a day...#5...

#5...
one of my favorite numbers...
and one of my favorite sets...
I seriously LOVE it...

and guess what?
today...I'll finally peek a few art parts...

here we go with another large set...

introducing...

DESTINATION ART

that cute little ink bottle is so much fun...

I have stamped it (jet black archival) on Clearly For Art, cut it out & shaped it, to make it more
rounded & dimensional...
I have a project to show you later on...

and here's what it looks like, stamped on an ART PART!

YES...
YIPPEE!

I'm flippin thrilled to tell you that I designed some stamps that coordinate with ART PARTS...

or we will have art parts with matching stamps...

take a look...
I had to chop the photo so I didn't spill anyone else's beans...
get it?
he'd KILL me...dead...

it's absolutely simple...

just lay your stamp on your work surface...
ink it with RANGER inks...
why of course!
and press the art part onto the coordinating stamp...

and like magic...
you have created a very dimensional solid embellishment to use in your art...

in total there are 9 art parts with coordinating stamps...
these are the first 2...
7 coming soon...

the other new art parts can be stamped with any background stamp...
or inked...
or painted...
or color washed or...
papered...

ok...back to the bottle...
it's 2 inches tall...

the label is rectangle...
so it's easy to cut & layer...

on the sample above I just stamped an extra on a grunge scrap & glued it right over the other for even more layers...
so it's easy to change the label color...

I stamped it on a scrap again & cut out just the tiny diamond on the label...
a tiny detail...
but it matters...

so...the stamp can be used on an art part...
or the clearly for art...
or stamped & cut out...

the saying...I HOPE you realize this is art...
makes me laugh...
sometimes people just don't get what we do & they need a gentle reminder...
or maybe a BOLD one...

and then the art truck...

be still my heart...
OMG!
I TOTALLY flippin LOVE this thing...
especially when it's stamped on an ART PART!

this photo had to be chopped too...
but there's the little cutie...

and here's a closer look...
it's about 3 3/4 inches wide...
and about 1 1/2 inches tall...

it's simple to embellish, with just a few long fasteners or snaps...
or...
little buttons...

there's nothing better than an art delivery right to your door...

next...the photo artist label...
another vintage find that I adore...

looks good as a filler in a collage...
stamp it several times to make a border across your base...

stamp it several times vertically to make any length border you need...

I AM AN ARTIST...
I'm pleased with this one...

who doesn't need a sign for their studio as a reminder?

this will be fun too for art journals...

oops!...I can see me using that LOTS...
I think an inky fingerprint with the oops will be fun...

I'll use oops with some funky art too...

"this was created" is another I like LOTS...

it's a reminder to always sign your art...

and the last saying seemed a perfect fit for the truck...
I used it for a book #4 project...
it worked out well...

so that was one of the big secrets I've been dying to share...

if you're a blog reader, you might remember that when I was driving to St. Louis to teach, I had this idea...

I wasn't sure if we could do it...

I frantically called Ted & he loved the idea...
and said "we sure could"...

and this is the result...
art parts with coordinating stamps...

but that was a take off of my original idea...
my first thought was to size some art parts so that they would be a perfect fit for...

let me just say...
wait 'til you see what's coming next....

happy Friday to you...

time for me to....
make art...
wendy
ps...2 more things...

If you are in Texas...
Ted is there this weekend with LOTS of stamps in BRAND NEW BOOTHS...
stop & see him demo...
check out the fancy new booth...

you can find the details here...

and........

THANKS to Amy for this tip...
wendy, have you heard of tumblr.com? it's a blog you create that allows you to electronically file away bits from blogs you like. it can be just a photo, a quote, a link, and it's all easy to arrange because at the top of the page there is a header that you click on to submit your photo, quote, link, etc. it then allows you to type in key words for each blog entry that you can later sort through to find the information you're looking for. I thought maybe you're followers might want to know about this so they can keep track of your fresh ideas.

And so can you!

I use it all the time, and it's a little embarassing how many of your blogs entries I've saved there. But you've got so many good ideas!

a set a day...#4...

hey blog friends...
have you been shocked that there isn't a flower on every set?

here's today's offering...
set #4...

this one DOES have a flower, and it's titled...

ART COLORS LIFE...

this is another one of the large sets being released...
(11 large & 3 small sets)

and this one DOES have a flower!

OH...I already said that!
but I'm excited so I said it again...

here's MY thoughts on this set...

oh, before we start...
I got several emails about adding a section to the blog which contains these ideas...

feel free to just copy these posts & save them in a file on your computer...
or print them out for a mini hints book...
to refer to later...

OK...

the saying @ the top is a favorite...
and it fits perfectly on the large 5 1/2 inch scallop art parts trim...

I thought we needed some longer sayings for larger projects...

this coordinates with all the flower stamps...

I wanted a saying that would be good in an art journal...

or for any project involving the word...
ART...

and...this is fun...
the words SUN, ART & LIFE all fit in the memo pin opening...

so...the saying can be made into some fun custom epoxy embellishments, by using just some of the words...

I think I'll be using those 3 words...
LOTS...

THE FLOWER...
yippee!
is large...almost 4 inches tall...
I LOVE IT...

because it's solid, it can be "kissed" to any unlinked background stamp to add a subtle pattern...

Since it's bold, I like it stamped over a lighter color background stamp...

it's great for watercolor stamping...
just ink, mist and stamp on watercolor paper...

the unlinked flower can be "kissed" to an INKED background stamp for a totally different look...
and each background stamp will completely change the look of the flower...

it's different...every time you use a different background stamp...
trust me...
this is FUN!

the flower can be masked off (post it note) & the stem can be inked & used with several flowers from current sets...

it can be stamped on grunge & cut out to create dimension...

my smallest butterfly can sit on the "scroll " leaves...

I really like the "simplify" font...
it starts out kind of "fancy"...
but then gets simple...

I see it used with little stamped/cut out images (a mini house) over it...

or with leaves around...
or a flower or a butterfly sitting on the line...

I will also use it on the back of my projects, and I'll sign my name right on the line...

the LOVE saying...
is large...about 4 inches long...

I wanted a LOVE saying that was not too specific so it could be used for multiple occasions...
Valentine's day, engagements, weddings...

I see scrapbookers using this one with family photos...

it could be the title of a page with a child kissing a pet...

finally...
the giant background...
I LOVE this one too...
(go figure!)...

when stamped, it looks like vintage wallpaper...

it's nice & subtle, so it's a versatile background for lots of projects...

since it's large...
it's a good card base too...

this is one that I want to clear emboss & then ink over...

and I plan to stamp it with

I like this one inked randomly for a really vintage effect...

tada...

that's set #4...
10 more to go...

now it's time for YOUR thoughts...
talk to me...

while I...

a set a day #3...

ART PARTS HOUSE??

ART PARTS LEAVES???
What are you guys talking about?
What peek?
You promised...
I thought you saw nothing???

Today...
is day 3 of the new CHA stamps and I can show you...

another large set...

this one is called...

ART GONE POSTAL...

starting @ the top...

"read the fine print"...
LOTS of fun & funny uses for that one...

the mesh is great stamped in coffee or olive archival or any distress ink for that matter...
it's a good collage filler stamp...
it's large...
just what I like...
except when I like mini...

it works well both when stamped horizontal & vertical...
and like to apply the ink unevenly...
for a vintage/worn effect...

I've used the the postal border BUNCHES already...
I LOVE it stamped in the background...

I created it from actual old postage marks from some letters we found @ Rick's aunt's home...
she had a box of letters tucked away in a closet and we rescued them after she died...

I've been wanting another "filler type stamp" for a while...
I was thinking something round that could be used in those odd spaces that just NEED something extra...

this is an actual vintage wood handle rubber stamp, that we found @ an antique mall along with some other postal things...
and...since my dad was a postal worker...
postal things remind me of him...

I've used this guy on several projects...
and I like it LOTS...
stamp it once or stamp it several times to make a longer border...

now that bottom mini quilt is FUN...

here's a very simple ATC I made with it...

probably the first ATC that is actually regulation...
everything is ON the ATC...
nothing hanging off...
shocking!

I stamped it twice on grungeboard, inked the bottom one with denim color wash & the second with meadow...
and cut apart the individual squares from the meadow quilt...

I think it looks like a mini game board...
complete with game pieces...

hey...
about those game pieces...here's a tip...

they are made from the little circle cutouts that come in the art parts spool kit...
and the sampler pack...
I lightly inked them with butterscotch pigment ink...

tim's mini star stamp is a PERFECT fit...
I was happy to discover that tidbit...

use just one for an embellishment...
or use several...to makes a cute border...

the ledge that the game pieces are sitting on is a section of the straight art parts flower stem...

and speaking of ATC'S...
get ready to play with some...

new ART PART ATC's...
YIPPEE!

there are 3 styles in the package...
square corners, rounded corners & cute little cut corners...

9 ATC's total in the pack...
so 3 of each...

they are a great solid surface to work on...

I used the square corner ATC for the piece above...

now for a totally different look from that same mini quilt stamp...

take a look @ how it transforms the 8 petal flower into a flower that looks like 4 hearts...

I was surprised when this developed...
here's what it looks like when this flower is stamped over 4 of the squares...

I didn't see it...
until I stamped it...
a fun discovery!

I'll be redoing this one in red for sure...
make that barn door!

So....that's it...set #3...
art gone postal...

I'll be patiently waiting to hear your thoughts...
keep them coming!

THANKS for taking the time to comment...
YOU MAKE MY DAY!

Pop back tomorrow for set #4...

and here comes the usual...

make art!
wendy
ps....
so...one art parts package of ATC's and 13 more NEWpackages coming...
I wonder what they could be?
