  2. I will use in on a canvas collage I am working on that has a lot of Tim Holtz things on it like adage tickets, keys, word sticks and such. I was not able to get the film strips, tried to order it from ecletric paperie and they were always out, and have had a hard time finding it. I would really love to win some so I could put it on this collage to hang in my craft room.

  3. Hi Wendy
I have many things in mind I could use it for. But 2 that I am sure of is. One I have tons of old black and white 40's and 50's photos of my grandparents that I need to scrap. This ribbon would be great to add to the layouts.
The other is I have some old Slides and photos of when my grandparents went to Jerusalem that I want to use to make a wall hanging/collage for my Mom for Christmas. This ribbon would be a great addition to add to it.

Love all of your ideas and I Love reading your blog. Every time I do I get inspired to go create something.

Thanks for the chance to win and have a Great weekend!!!

  4. You are such a tease!!! I am so curious on what you're up to! But I'll take any kind of photo to keep me guessing!

The Film Strip Ribbon will go everywhere...layouts, altered arts, cards...EVERYWHERE! LOL! Can't seem to find them.

Hey, have a FUN/FANTASTIC trip down to St. Louis! Can't wait to see pictures!!!! HINT: Take camera, take pictures! LOL!! Safe journeys, friend! xo

  5. Not sure if it would work, but your comment about having so much that you could wrap it around your house gave me an idea! I think I'd try cutting it and using it as window panes for a MR house.....the big one, of course. The houses have to be my favorite alterable item that they've ever come up with!

  6. I'm putting together a travel journal for the cruise - the ribbon would be great to use with some of the pages!

Can't wait to get my hands on some of your stamps & the stamp binder onboard ... I'm trying so hard to be good until then! :o)

Have a great time in St. Louis!

  8. I would use this on my school pictures page for this year. Think it would be a cool look.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I want to use it on a couple of the "just dream" wall hangings like we did in the workshop. I want to do a project with index prints (like tim did) for my nephew's pictures, I have an idea for a card using the house mouse stamp where he is behind the camera and the filmstrip ribbon will be perfect for that! I know I already ordered some, but I don't think I have enough to wrap around my house yet! lol Wish I could go to st louis this weekend or on the cruise with you in october! Keep making art, Wendy, your art inspires mine!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I know what pic #2 is & can't wait to see what you have in mind. Hmmm. Too bad I can't go on the cruise. Would love to see what is in store for everyone. Maybe next time!

  14. I was wondering if I could use it for a bottom of a lamp shade. .. I have a camera that went to WW II with a my DH Uncle and I thought some books the camera and a cool shade would be a great present for him. . .

  15. I would use it with the heritage layouts....can't wait to staple it on with Tim's attacher!

  16. Love how you tease the cruisers. Hahaha! Film strip ribbon? I love your use as glasses. It would make a great border on ATC's, use in the memory glass slides as a covering over a vintage photo. I can't wait to get my hands on some of it. Even in the art journals it will make a cool grungy look. Have a blast this weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would love to add the ribbon to some Halloween tags, maybe put some letters behind the frames.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would use it on some tags for my pages, would love to use it on an ATC. Thanks for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would love to use it on the scrapbook pages of my DH's summer photography class that he taught.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I will use it on layouts with lots of distress and grunge and atcs and cards and altered book pages and canvases, .... so you see I need a lot of it! LOL Kathy Eddy

  21. Boy are you a tease Wendy! As to what I'd do with the filmstrip ribbon, well the obvious thing would be to add photos to it, either using photo contact sheets or photos I alter in Photoshop Elements. But I think I want to hold it in my hands and do some experimenting with it, let it speak to me. Maybe incorporate it into a piece of jewelry.

  22. HAHA! Those poor people going on the cruise are going to need a Xanax by the time you get done with them. As for the film strip, I would definitely use some to decorate a chipboard Family album I'm working on right now of my dad and his siblings when they were children growing up during the 1930s and 1940s. I think it will give some of the pages a great vintage look.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ooooh!! I want to use it on a 12x12 canvas using paint, embossed metal and grunge for a mixed media(ish) wall hanging!! My LSS still doesn't have this in stock but I keep looking!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Those film strips would go on everything, Cubs collage that I'm working on (they need all the creative help they can get!), scrapbook pages, heritage pieces, the list goes on and on.
    Thanks Wendy!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd put tiny little pictures in them. Can't wait to get some!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hmmm, I would have to have it in my hand & let it "tell" me what to do with it but my 1st thoughts are to use it on a card or a tag that will become part of a card...maybe on a scrapbook layout with old photos.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well my LSS has received 2 shipments of the film ribbon and sold out before I could even get some. SO, I would love to win a canister of this stuff. I like the size so I ask, what wouldn't you use it on? But with Halloween coming up, it would be great for several Halloween projects.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would make a layout (probably of my niece, Alexis) and I would run the filmstrip across the bottom of the layout and put her name (letter by letter) peeking through the openings. The colored pic of your new purchase appears to possibly be large colored cotton balls??? Oh, I also wanted to remind you. Do not forget to pack your camera for your cruise! We want to see lots of pictures of the fun you will be having!!! Take care and have a safe trip to St. Louis...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would use it on an altered journal I am working on. Hey....those packages look like wool roving! Am I right? Some felting projects coming up?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Isn't it obvious how I'd use it? In my scrapbooks and making cards. LOL!! I am in the process of making "A Week In the Life" scrapbook and I would DEFINITELY use it in there. I have all my pictures taken..just collected supplies to use and this would be GREAT!! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  31. First thing that came to mind on what I'd use the filmstrip ribbon for would be a cruise album! 16 days and counting!

    Linda

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks for the chance! My FS idea it to stamp on it and make my own design on top!!!

  33. I'll just embellish, embellish, and embellish with it. You can never have enough embellishments, can you?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would definitely use it on something related to the cruise -- maybe a layout or altered item. I'm sure that I will learn a way to use it with either you or Tim!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm thinking of using it for wedding favors for my niece's wedding. Each wedding attendee will get a mini-shopping bag (the bride is a shopaholic) with a lottery ticket in it "Lucky in Love", and I am thinking of putting the film ribbon around the shopping bag.

  36. Wendy I will be at For Keep Sake on Sat. Can't wait! I recently found several old photo albums, that need to be redone. I think the film strip would be a great imbelishment for them.

  37. I would so love to have some of that filmstrip!

  38. I am thinking of using some on a calendar page, and putting small photos of the grandkids under it. What a fun item this is going to be to play with. Thanks for ordering so much.

  39. My daughter graduated from high school and I was thinking of a scrapbook layout using little snapshots from over the school years to highlight her journey. That filmstrip ribbon would look AMAZING. If only I had some to use. Keeping my fingers crossed.... thanks for sharing some of your "stash". :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wendy...I can't tell you what I would do with some of the film strip ribbon. I have to hold it in my hand and look at it for a while...wait for it so "speak to me" as it were. Sometimes, I know right away what I want to do with something, but this...not yet. I haven't seen any of it IRL yet. But, I'm sure it's fab!!! Hisses, Rockin Robin Caldwell

  41. I'm completely uninspired by the film. I mean, I could weave ribbon through it for a funky embellishment. And then weave the film strip into a fabric and make a mask from it. Or use it in collaged soldered pendants. Maybe it to frame letters in a word - probably Bite Me! Or put it over tiny images of cities I love to make a little travelogue.

But other than that, I'm completely uninspired!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would like to use it if I can WIN it on a photo album I am working on for my kids. My father was big on taking pictures of our family growing up and I do the same and I am working on a generation album to give each of my 3 children. I am using the old slide covers also and I think the film strip would be PERFECT for a border on each page. Thank you for inspiring me. I am working on getting all of your stamps - I have 10 so I am getting there. So much fun to create with.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I would love to use it in creating an altered canvas! I've seen this in person at CHA and it is awesome. I love to have a few feet!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. That film stip ribbon looks so cool in pictures, haven't seen it for real yet. I would probably use it on cards. How about photo cards? Or tags, maybe tags ... can't wait to see some!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wendy,
I would use the filmstrip ribbon on my page that showcases one of our family Christmas days last year. We celebrated Christmas once a week for the 4 weeks in December last year. Each week had a different theme, one of which was "the MOVIE week". I am also making a story box about last Christmas and I would also use it there.
    PICK ME ... thanks, ms.cheryl

  46. I would love to use some of that filmstrip ribbon on some of my scrapbook pages. Would have to think about what photos would go best with it. I am thinking some tropical garden photos would look nice or maybe some vintage photos.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am working on a mixed media project about Glamour Women in Hollywood, and this would go perfect in it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow another great giveaway Wendy.
I would take the filmstrip and use it in a mini album and add pictures from when my son started
school until he graduated from university and call it something like "school days captured on film"
    or the "journey begins".

  52. Well, I'm not sure of how I'd use it but I'm kind of seeing a little strip of cute little photos with this tape - kind of like those old photo booths?? Pick me please!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'd use Tim's film strip ribbon as a neck cord to make a necklace with and attach one of Wendy's grunge flowers. Then I can have two of my favorite artists close to me at all times. Perhaps some of their creative energy will be bestowed on me through it. Thanks again for another chance at this wonderful ribbon.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'd use it as an embellishment for heritage pages or as word titles with one letter per "frame." Can't wait to see this for real.
    Susan

    ReplyDelete
  55. Don't ask me WHY, maybe because I just washed my sneakers, but I would use some to replace my shoe strings! LOL OOoooh and maybe use some for a necklace in place of a chain for a soldered charm that holds a vintage photo . . .

    ReplyDelete
  56. First I want to see if I can play with the new alcohol ink pens on it and test if inchies fit inside the frames and if so I am not telling the rest of the story cause it is a Christmas surprise. It that does work it will make great bows or hangers for grungeboard or........You get the idea! Thanks for the drawing!

  57. HI Wendy!

When my son was four years old, he get his first camera, a one-time camera who was waterproof. I let him do what he want with it. He make a bunch of funny pictures. When I get it back it was a indexpage with samll pictures in the envelope. I want to use this in the filmstrips behind the bigger pictures in his album. It will also be perfect to use in tags.
I can't wait to get this filmstrip in my hands....

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm not sure what I would use the ribbon for yet, but I know if I had some I would find many uses for it. I do a lot of tags and ATC's and I think it would be perfect to use it on them with old black & white or even Sepia photos. Thanks for the chance to win this wonderful ribbon.

  68. I'd love to win this ribbon! I like how we used it in your workshop and probably will use it that way again. I also want to try putting the tiny photos behind it. 75. Probably the most important thing I learned from one of Wendy's classes at StampFest in Orlando, Florida was to take ordinary objects and incorporate them in unexpected and delightful ways. I'm sure there will be many creative ways to use the filmstrip ribbon other than the obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  76. If I did win the filmstrip ribbon I would use some of it on a collage I have in mind for a family member's birthday. As for the rest of it...I'm sure I could figure out more uses. The cruise is sounding better every time it is mentioned. Maybe you will do it again next year. By then maybe I will have figured out a way for me to be able to be gone that long.

    ReplyDelete
  77. To be honest I just want to see and hold some of this ribbon... then I will know where I will use it. I am very curious and so excited to get a chance to actually have some of my very own! :) Sue

  81. Film Strip Ribbon! OMG.. Love it! I can't seem to get the image of the piece that had two ribbon "squares" over the eyes of a stamped face. Loved that. I totally see me using the ribbon as part of my collage art. But I can also see it in my scrapbooking as travel snipets (photos behind)and or photo shoot "out takes". This stuff is hard to get a hold of... Can't wait until I can use it!

  96. thanks for the chance of winning, i would love to use some film strip on scraobook pages but also would love to have a go with some on an art journal page

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hmmmm....I want to use it to showcase words and the tin would be super cool used as an embellie filled with goodies!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Firstly Wendy, does the little idea you've got brewing involve wool tops perhaps? ;) I do hope not having a really good idea or wacky idea for the filmstrip will preclude me as I'm not good with ideas. It would work great with my 'Vintage Nudes' stamp however and some may find it's way onto one or two Christmas cards as windows :)

  100. Hey Wendy! I thought of an idea to use the sample Film Strip on the outside of the packages. Cut a slit down to the eyelet, with you Handy Dandy Tim Holz scissors, being careful not to cut the Film. Remove eyelet, texture hammer tighter around ribbon.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Cont.~ Create a BANNER stamping a letter (in StazOn?) on each ribbon and making spacers with the teeniest Grungeflower you have ever seen on a ribbon. Example: (flower-film) ART (flower-film) BY (flowerfilm) WENDY (flowerfilm)... itwould make a neat little booth decoration or maybe part of a necklace. I don't know if this will work because I've never had the honor of holding Film Strip ribbon in my hands, but it came to me... Yeah like the Cruise Kitting Queen has time to try this!
    Love your blog! Just a thought~ Erin : )

    ReplyDelete
  102. P.S.~ Jump Idea-Ology jump rings in the eyelets would help them hang straight, and knotting the jump rings on a string would keep them spaced out evenly.

Would use it on my christmas tags to give them a really completely different look from the traditional. Thanks for the chance to win.!

  104. Hello,
    Great blog i like it
Some ideas to decorate in style include: life size cut outs of famous actresses and actors, movie reel tins centerpieces (type 'movie reel centerpiece' in search), large clapboards that you personalize, 'walk of fame' stars (you could make your own and include family and friends names on them), and of course balloons with a Hollywood theme.
