255 comments equals 10 prizes!!!!!!!

CHA was AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ...
what else can I say?

TOTAL FUN...and a little work...
but even that is VERY fun...

Everyone that I spoke with was thrilled with their sales which makes me believe that the economy is improving...YIPPEE!!!

It was soooooo fun to meet up with friends...
it's a BLAST to be around people who get this inky madness...

lots of teaching talk...
that schedule will be coming soon...

And the winners are...

You must be kidding...
I have LOTS of photos to show before we get to that...

Michelle (Mrs. Stampers Anonymous) made a new booth sign for me...

it's big...probably 3 feet long...

it caught me totally off guard...
and I almost cried when I saw it...

I abolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

She had the factory guys enlarge my stamps to giant size & then they were printed on grungepaper...
the card in the lower right corner is about 5 x 5...to give you a reference...

OK...
so I TOOK my camera...
and actually took 55 photos...

now guess how many look decent... grrr...

There are some projects missing...
STOLEN from the Maya Road booth...
can you imagine...

I hope the person enjoys it...NOT!

And more of my projects were stolen from tim's idea-ology booth...

again...not nice...

and then...a stamp set was stolen from Ted and 6 of my new books...

hmmm...so if you see someone who has the above items...
call the FBI!

OH WELL...there are millions of GREAT people & I guess a few rotten ones were there too...

Off the soapbox...

The new book is cool...if I say so myself...
the photography made me soooooooo happy.

I'll give some away when I get more...
in a week or 2...

Here's a sample I made for Ranger using their new product "enamel accents". This shows the white...

Enamel accents also comes in black...yippee!
here's that sample...

Here's one of the projects I did for tim's idea-ology booth...

LOVE LOVE LOVE his papers & you'll see his new Sizzix dies used for the flowers and a few new studio 490 stamps......

NEXT...
I'd like to introduce you to my new BFF...

Meet Ms. Olivia...

She's the newest member of the Maya Road family...

Whenever I had a break...
I'd run over & grab her from Caroline...

She is absolutely THE SWEETEST baby ever.
NEVER a tear...
ALWAYS happy...

I think I'm in LOVE!

I grabbed her this day too...
I kept her facing out...
I was trying to teach her to shop so she learns how to spend her dad's $$$...
Sorry David!

I told you in an earlier post (sort of) about the Ranger challenge.

The title this time was ...
"MELT ART is the HOTTEST TICKET"...

We were each given the same ingredients...
a 10 x 10 piece of wood & the wooden ticket...

lots of Suze products...

We had to use both of the wooden pieces...
that was the only rule...
the rest was up to us...

I TOTALLY waxed everything...

it took me a full month to figure it out...

I started by glueing a Jenni Bowlin paper to the wood base & went from there...

it turned into the ...
ticket to make art...

I had a hard time getting a good photo...
here's another...

Every single thing is waxed, except the metal accents...

After waxing and stamping, I added turquoise Perfect Pearls...

last one...
more waxed grunge...

NOW...
these are the 10 winners.........

I can't believe (OK, I can believe, I just don't want to believe) that people would steal from the booths. LOW LIFES! But they'll get theirs, some how, some day. Can't wait to start playing with all the new stamps!

Welcome home!! So sorry to hear about the fact stuff was stolen!! Grrrrrr!
I have a question about the enamel accents for you (SOUNDS FABULOUS!) Wondering though if they actually "harden" when dry?? Liquid pearls are lovely but they flatten out somewhat and stick to stuff even after curing for a day or even a week. Would you know if these are any more "durable" than the liquid pearls? I love the colors also black and white are perfect!

Babies are impressionable...until I was 10 months old we lived with my grandparents and every day after work my grandfather would take me on a "tour" of the basement and show me all of his miniatures...copper teakettles light pulls, "20 Mule Team Borax"(a covered wagon pulled by horses), and other small odds and ends. It scarred me for life! Miniatures abound in my home. I even have a miniature reproduction of a hot air balloon with miniature(<3") teddy bears and one lone rabbit riding in the basket! Of course, maybe Ms. Olivia will be safe...there was only a few days...my grandfather had me for 10 months...every day. But I don't really mind so much...he just wanted to share what he loved with me...and loves shared is always a good thing! Thanks for sharing your passions...waiting to see more.

I am in absolute shock. One, because I can't even believe people stole (and obviously more than one person) from the CHA event. That really blows me away. Most every person I've ever come across in this crazy, mixed media world we all live in has always been kind and what I thought was upstanding. Do people not realize the blood, sweat and tears that goes into your samples that you put out at those shows? Or the fact that you bring those to each of your events? It really makes me mad that there were that many thefts there. So sorry Wendy, it's really appaling. The other reason I'm shocked is because I was a winner, yeah!!! I never (and I mean never) win on these comment contests. In fact when I did this one I was thinking to myself, "why bother". Well now I know, you bother because eventually something nice happens. I'm so excited and thankful Wendy.

Helen said...

Congrats to the winners - sooo jealous I'm not one of them. It must be so disheartening to have your samples and stock stolen, some people are just unspeakable.
it is good tohave you back, it seems such a long time since you posted. Can't wait to see some more fab projects with your new goodies, not to mention get my hands on some myself!!

It sickens me to think that scrapbookers would steal your stuff.....not that I would feel better if it was a "regular" person, but I always thought scrabookers to be a different type of person/
Cannot wait for the new book -

Thanks for sharing your comments about CHA. The banner looks awesome. I'm very sad to hear some of your stuff was stolen. I have yet to try waxing... I love what you did, amazing for a first try!

Sarah Anderson said...

Thanks so much for the close up of your Ranger sample, I loved it when I first saw it and love it more now I've seen it close up.
I hate that people steal things that others have made. It seems to happen at all the shows. I just hope they get no peace everytime they look at it!!

Unknown said...

All of your samples are gorgeous. I would never know what to do with most of that stuff if you didn't make it so clear. Can't wait for your new book!
I hope you got to keep that awesome sign! Scary that people would be so rude as to steal stuff. I'd volunteer to be a guard if I live closer!

Glad you're back! I have missed your art. Enjoy being in your home again.

So glad you are back and that CHA was a success. Let's just forget about the non crafters who apparently figured they couldn't make art so stole it! You inspire us to make art and I just might make a Wendy flower. With some of your stamps. Putting my own stamp on your style.
