before I go...
I was so excited to tell you about "clearly for art" yesterday,
that I forgot the best thing...
this is really my favorite way to use it...
it is PERFECT for tim's Sizzix embossing folders...
aka...texture fades...
I die cut a flower using tim's tattered floral die...
then I embossed it with his dot matrix texture fade...
then I used the sanding grip to sand the raised areas.
This removes the shine & is really good for helping the ink stick better...
I rubbed sepia archival over the sanded spots...
and then I heated it...
which removes the embossing...
amazingly...it goes right back to flat...
but it's very cool looking...
after you shape it...
it kind of makes the texture fades into stamps...
It's early...I hope this makes sense...
here's my sample...
that's it...
CHA or bust!
I'll be in the Ranger booth #413...
demoing daily... I LOVE IT!!!
and popping in over @ Stamper's Anonymous/Art gone wild...
that's booth #442...
to harass Ted...shhh...don't tell him ...it's a surprise...
I have art made for Ranger...of course...
Maya Road...booth #1907...
tim's idea-ology...#831
and Sizzix...#1006.
I've been BUSY...
it's been lots of work...
but TOTALLY FUN...
it's NOT a job...
it's...
mak(ing) art!
wendy
I guess I'm the early bird today - have a great time at CHA - I'm loving the possibilities for the clearly art line - endless! I'm still trying to understand the "heat to shape" concept - do you put the clear piece over something with shape so it molds to that shape? Or does it just "warp"? That's the fun of discovery - can't wait to try.
ReplyDeleteStunning! Hope you're going to tweet regularly. This product sounds fab - 'clearly' it's brilliant!! Have a great trip.
ReplyDeleteI am sure pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful and Brilliant used with Texture Fades. Can't wait to see the samples in person. See you soon!
ReplyDeleteI would give anything to get to CHA so that I can see your work in person... actually I think CHA shows should be held in Ireland, lol.
ReplyDeleteBlimey Wendy ... Do you sleep??? I LOVE this sample ... no surprise there then ... I LOVE everything you do ... Have a wicked time at CHA XXX

ReplyDeleteAnother darling sample! I'm not sure I totally get how this works but can't wait to learn by getting some Clearly Art and trying it. I have a feeling this is just the "tip of the iceberg" of possibilities for this amazing product. Have a blast at CHA, you must be about ready to "crash" after all this hard work! Marijane
ReplyDeleteI did not get to check your blog yesterday. So all I can say is WOW!! This the cutest stuff yet.
ReplyDeleteSue
This stuff is over the top! Now to figure out how to make myself be patient and wait for it to become available!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the texture fades...what an interesting technique! Sounds to me like you'd line up to be cloned if it was possible...then you could be at every single booth and Ted would never know peace again...LOL! Safe travels and have loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteLove that last technique. Have a great time at CHA. Wish I could be there to watch all of the demos!
ReplyDeleteOnce again you've gotten inside my head to create the PERFECT product for what I'm trying to create!! This will be another "I can't wait to get my hands on this!" request at my local store.

Hi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteHope to see you at CHA! Connie is owner and I am manager of our own "Making Memories & More" in Siren, WI. We have been doing this for seven months now. Took it over in January! Lovin' every bit of becoming established! Retail therapy and ART make a good combination for us!(scrapbooking, cardmaking, stamping & paper crafting).
BEST part is---we get to actually go shopping at CHA to buy product for our store! Dream coming true.
You are a true inspiration Wendy!
Darla

That is fabulous. What a subtle effect. I don't have the texture fades but have Cuttlebug folders. You could just gently ink part of an embossed piece, and then heat it to remove the embossing (that sounds such a cool technique! must try it...) to get something of the same effect.
ReplyDeleteLoving your work!
Wendy it was so nice to meet you. I can't wait until you come to the Scrapbook Page in Shawnee. Loved watching you create art! hugs
ReplyDeleteYour flower is awsome, I love how your leaf turned out also!
