after lots of planning...
and months of keeping my lip sealed...that was hard...
today is the day...
I can finally introduce you to...
art parts...
You might need a beverage...
sit back...
I have lots to tell you...
art parts came to be when I couldn't find certain "art parts" that I wanted for classes...
I had ideas...I needed odd sizes...I wasn't able to find them...
after talking with Michelle, Mrs Stampers Anonymous, she said...
hey we can make them for you. NO PROBLEM...
SERIOUSLY??? I can have anything I want??
HOLY TOLEDO...or maybe holy CLEVELAND!
So that's the beginning of art parts...
why the name??
since I LOVE the word "art"...
each of my stamp sets (all 45 now) have the word art in the title...
art parts just seemed to be the perfect fit...
that's exactly what they are...
PARTS to... make ART! See how that fit!
so there are a few categories within art parts...
first we have art parts BASICS...
they are the basic everyday...multiple use items...
the basics include a 2 part frame system...
there is a solid base & a perfectly matched frame to sit on top of it...
a bit of adhesive hold them together...so simple!
our first release includes 2 sizes of squares, a rectangle and a circle frame...
next is art parts ACCENTS...yep, they are the accent pieces for the basics...
think scallop trim...again...sized for use with the basics...
and then we have art parts for DECOR...
this is a 3 part spool and more...
the spools come in several different sizes...and includes a top, a bottom (both with a hole) & the tube that holds them together...
I LOVE that the pieces are individual...
that makes them so easy work with...
I'll have examples coming soon...
showing just how they can be used...
then there is an optional FLOWER top (2 sizes), which turns the spool into a display piece...more on that TODAY!
here's what I LOVE about art parts...
they are made in Cleveland @ the Stampers Anonymous factory...
Arnold is the guy who cuts anything we NEED!
THANKS ARNOLD...
His cuts are PERFECT...no rough edges...PERFECT!
Arnold is my new BFF!
I just KNOW that you'll like Arnold too!
they are made from a superior quality composite material & are so easy to alter...
they are strong & very sturdy...1/8th of an inch thick...
they will be sold directly thru Stampers Anonymous...
(so it's easy to order stamps & art parts all in one place!)
they are KRAFT COLORED!
And like I said...easy to alter...
so far I've used tim's distress inks on them...
I've used Ranger's PIGMENT inks on them...
I've painted them with Ranger's paint dabbers...
I've stamped on them...
they look AWESOME with those studio 490 stamps! Imagine that!
I've covered them with paper...
and because tim's Sizzix embossing folders are so deep...
art parts can be embossed in the folders!
and...
here's a shot of an art parts BASIC frame (3 1/2 inches square) being covered with tim's tissue tape...
so here's the same frame, altered with Rangers snow cap white pigment ink and stormy sky distress inks...
the flower is grungeboard...and was also created with snow cap white pigment ink & the yummy rusty hinge distress...
this will be a tutorial...AFTER CHA! The pigment gives us a whole new color palette when combined with distress...
the scallop trim has the holes in it...
this time I've accented the holes with tim's fasteners...
here's the completed piece...
Here's what art parts for decor looks like, after inking, stamping and assembling...
Combine them and this is what you get...
So that's the first art parts reveal...
there are lots of fun projects I'll be showing in the days to come...
LOTS!
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts...
So now with studio 490 art parts...
we have even more fun options to...
make art...
wendy

WEEEEEEEE!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG I sooooo want to play with these!
What is the size of the frame? I'm assuming with the spool it must be on the smaller side, unless the spool is big? it's so hard to tell in pics (at least for me it is! LOL)
SOOooo excited for your new Art parts!
I need a friend like Arnold, he must be AWESOME
Ok, I already love Arnold! Have you told him your art friends are a little whacky!!!! We will have to call him Arty Arnold!... I absolutely love this idea, keep up the good work.
