but first...
a weekend recap...
MANY THANKS to everyone @ The Stamping Place in Columbia, South Carolina...
It was an awesome, inky weekend for sure, as evidenced by 350 very inky fingers.
Make that 360...mine looked the same!
I was happy to visit with friends I met last year & to see some new faces too.
If you are in the area...it's well worth going there...
it's an AWESOME store!
Now about that post title...
I wanted something catchy...
I thought about guns & roses...
guns scare me...
but rubber fit pretty well...
and it's not exactly roses...
it's actually rosettes...
7 of them to be exact...
The inspiration for this piece came @ the airport last Friday. I heard a gal say she was going to do her Christmas tree in purple & silver this year...
for some unknown reason...
I immediately saw tim's new alterations Sizzix die & saw a Christmas tree...
It KILLED me to have the idea...
but no art supplies with me to test...
patience is not something I have a lot of...
So I thought about it all weekend & could not wait to run to my studio to see if the idea would work.
It did...
I cut 7 rosettes from tim's retro grunge paper stash...
used background paper from his lost & found pad...
new stickers from his lost & found salvage sticker booklet...(coming soon)
I accented the locket keyhole with pesto alcohol ink & the fillable pen...shh...it's a real deal @ only $2.00 each!
it's simple...
no fuss...no muss..
the Maya Road trinket star pin made a cool tree topper...
the button @ the base of the tree is also from Maya Road...
to tint the Maya Road trim, I put a few drops of the vintage photo re-inker in a baggie with a few drops of water.
add the trim...
squish the bag to cover the trim & allow to dry...
again...no mess @ all...
I LOVE the vintage color of the trim...thanks to the re-inker...
and guess what?
it all fit in the art parts frame...
that was inked with barn door distress ink & stamped with jet black archival & my polka dot stamp...
here's a closer look...
just a bit of color...
makes the locket coordinate perfectly...
Now about the rubber part of the title...
CAUTION...enabler alert!!!
I'm EXCITED!!!
the summer CHA NEW studio 490 stamps are all in stock @ eclecticPaperie and also @ simon says stamp...
both places have EXCELLENT customer service & quick shipping...
just what we like...errr...NEED...
and speaking of shopping...
I spoke with Ted yesterday & he expects art parts to be shipping in about 2 weeks...YIPPEE!!!
and book #3 in about 2-3 week...
it's being printed as we speak...YIPPEE!
speaking of rubber...
how about we give some away???
if you left this comment...
send your address & some fun new rubber will be headed to you...
congrats to...
