let's get started on a holiday gift giving idea...
my gift to you is a mini class...
with all the info you'll need to get started...
it's small...
the art parts frame is just 3 1/2 inches square, so it's a great quick gift to create for someone special...
here's a look @ the finished piece...
and the instructions...
using tim's alterations tattered florals die, cut the largest flower from grungeboard...
apply strips of tissue tape to the flower and use the blending tool with butterscotch pigment ink to cover the flower...
it will look like this...
remove the tissue tape & LIGHTLY ink over the flower with the denim again...
use coffee archival to stamp the screen stamp over the flower...
mist the flower lightly with perfect pearls mist and use the gold dabber to highlight the petal edges...
your flower should look like this...
cut a 3 1/2 inch square of "clearly for art" and apply strips of tissue tape to cover it...
turn it over & cover the back with tissue tape strips...
using tim's tattered florals die, cut the medium sized flower from the tissue tape covered clearly for art...
by covering the material BEFORE cutting it, you end up with perfect edges...
use a scrap of clearly for art with tim's winter wonder die to cut just the snowflake...
randomly pounce the gold dabber over the snowflake...
I didn't cover it completely...
I like the worn off look...
it's more vintage...ish...
lightly ink the flower with the blending tool & butterscotch pigment ink...
use denim pigment with the blending tool to lightly accent the petal edges...
working on the non stick craft sheet, use the heat-it tool to warm the snowflake...
when soft, shape to form...
this will be transformed from a lovely snowflake to a flower center...
I've been waiting to use that idea since I first saw the die...haha!
still working on the craft sheet, warm the flower & shape...
it takes a bit longer to heat, since the heat needs to go thru the tape to get to the clear material...
as a reminder...
clearly for art can be reheated & reshaped until you are completely satisfied with it...
don't like the shape?
simply put it back on the craft sheet, heat & reshape...
and...
remember the lecture...
look @ what things could be...
that makes the snowflake more versatile & useable all thru the year...
grab an accoutrement button for the flower center...
your clearly for art flower is no longer CLEAR...
and will look like this...
but it's still strong & durable...
I might be prejudice...but this stuff is FUN...
and the snowflake turned flower center is here too...
on to the leaves...
stamp them on grungepaper using olive archival, ink with forest moss distress ink and stamp the polka dots with jet black archival...
then shape...
to complete the frame you'll need to cover the base with a scrap from tim's lost & found paper stash...
stamp it with the script stamp, using butterscotch pigment...
use jet black to stamp "wish" toward the bottom right...
the art parts frame gets misted with denim color wash...
heat to dry...
with the color washes it couldn't be easier...
then stamp it with the screen stamp & jet black archival...
use the gold dabber to accent the frame edge...
glue the frame to the base with Glossy Accents...
add some pen stitching detail...
sign your art...
wrap it up & you have one gift DONE...
this certainly can be customized with other colors to coordinate with the recipient's decor...
it could also be added to a journal cover...
I hope this has you in the holiday spirit and you're inspired to...
make art!
wendy
ps...I'll have more gift giving ideas coming...
stay tuned...
