so what else is new???
YIPPEE!
here's my take on configurations...
before I get into the post, let me warn you that tim's brand new configurations are ADDICTING...
let me say it again...
to make it perfectly clear...
ADDICTING...
my plan for yesterday was to start...
(like work an hour or so) & just get started on a configurations project...
6 hours later...YES!!!
6...HOURS...
OMG I was having too much fun to quit...
so, don't say that I didn't warn you...
here's my take on configurations...
this next tree has been sitting on my desk waiting patiently (not really!) for configurations to arrive...
so, I didn't think it was for a card...
but it's PERFECT for the configurations...
where you can hide the sides...
here it is...
the accoutrement makes a perfect tree topper...
I used just 2 of the little compartments (configures??? ha! that's funny!)...
the small square made a gift & a larger rectangle, made a drawer to stuff with goodies...
my mini stamp was a perfect reminder to...
the time change had me up @ 4AM...
and I was in the studio by 4:30, because I had another idea...
the box was finished last night, but was there anything else I could add?
this next photo is looking down...
the whole piece is sitting on an art parts rectangle (the base from my 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 frame) with a large scallop trim as the finishing touch...
soooo simple to customize...
here's a side shot looking from the left...
I was actually sad when I finished...
but guess what?
reluctantly...
I told Rick to hide them so I can get some assignments checked off the TO*DO list...
I'll probably be hunting for them later...geez!
so, there are 2 morals of the story for today...
#1...
there art NO rules for art...
you don't HAVE TO use every little compartment...
and...
#2...
configurations & art parts are a match made in heaven!
ok...in addition to the products listed above,
I used a billion products for this piece...
here's some of the KEY ingredients...
I actually used the new espresso color wash on the inside of the box, mixed with heirloom gold Perfect Pearls Mist...
I used lettuce color wash to color the gift...
the drawer was inked with red pepper PIGMENT ink...(sooo simple)and I used the red pepper to alter the metal heart too...
Glossy Accents for gluing...
from my studio 490 stamps...
polka dots...
scallop...
script...
mini heart...
now I'm off to suck up to Rick so he hands over the other configurations...
so I can...
make art!
wendy
ps...why oh why did I give them to him???
another ps...
I'm getting ready for a Q & A session later this week. stay tuned!

Wow, Wendy - go configure - you are the Queen! Love this - it is stunning. Haven't had a good day, you have made me feel lots better.
Way cool! I like how you disfigured the configuration to make it work on a whole new figuration!
Hi Wendy....OMG.....I just love the little tree and the whole idea! Just gorgeous !!!! Once again you have inspired me....the laundry will have to wait today! (Maybe tomorrow too !)
Another amazing piece of art!I can see why you didn't want to stop.
Ok, here's one for your Q&A session: WHY DO I HAVE TO WORK HERE?!?! *lol* Reading this post - seeing the AWESOMENESS of this creation - I want to be HOME, playing, NOW! Why, why, WHY was I born beautiful instead of rich?!?! Or, why don't I win the lottery I don't play? I want to make art NOW, I tell you!
*sigh*
Ok, I feel a little better, am done hyperventilating (I think) .. but I really do wish I were surrounded by Art Parts & inks & stamps & papers, instead of papers & pens & calculators & monitors ... *lol*
Beautiful, Wendy ... absolutely beautiful!
Awesome project!!
I love what you have done with the configurations. You are always thinking outside the "box".
Oh. my. gosh. That's all I have. LOL!!! LOVE.
Wow, what a great project. I think Rick will give them to you sounds like a gem.
AWESOME!! Wendy you rocked it again, no surprise though!! I LOVE to see your take on things and this is a fun idea!! I haven't gotten any of these yet, but this has inspired me to go and play!! Have a GREAT DAY!! Thanks for sharing!! =)

Fabulous Wendy! The tree is so cool, the whole piece is so cool. Gotta run, must shop!
OK, so you have officially been elevated to genius status in my little corner of the world.
I like to believe that I can think outside of the box, but you took the box and just about stood it on its head!
Why oh why did it never occur to me to use only SOME of the little boxes?
I bow to your genius!

This truly is amazing!!! You were INSPIRED!!!! Wow!!! I have to ask.... Does the drawer really pull out??
GO Configure....Wendy figured out side the box? huh?
AMAZING!
Rick, give her the D@*% boxes! We need more!!!!!!!
LOL!
OMG it looks like a little store-front!! I LOVE it!!! You need to get a little mini-Wendy figure and put her behind like she's demo-ing... HA!
Hugs,
Ellen
PS - Did the sucking up work? HAHA.
it was totally worth the wait! you can't see me, but i'm giving you a standing ovation. i'm staying tuned for your next talent burst ;)
Amazing creation as always! Love how you did not use all of the compartments. Really enjoyed the classes on Saturday! Need to get some cleaning done (seriously it does need it around here) and then will have time to play!
great projects. so many compartments, so little time. your studio must be the best playland ever. if i ever get the yardwork done and the garage cleaned i must start making things again. working outside in the fresh fall air seems to be the best sleep aid ever... just can't stay awake past 10, my favorite time to craft.
What an awesome idea !! You are so full of brillant ideas. Makes me want to go home and put up my tree seeing a Christmas project :) Good luck on the hunt for your other configurations :) lol
What a darling creation! I can see several of these little "vignettes" placed across a mantle or shelf creating a Christmas scene. Brilliant, Wendy!
Saw these cute configuration boxes at a local scrapbook store! I'm so glad you show us other ways to use these products other than the obvious. Thank you again!
Stunning! What a great excuse not to do cleaning. This is amazing!
Jeesh! I would love to have your creativity for just a day - no, make that a week. I made one of the configurations last week and thought it came out kind of cute...until....I saw yours. LOVE IT!!!!! :)

A-MAZE-ZING! I so love this and can't wait to get my inky little paws on one of those. You have left me so inspired!
Please, please put me on your Christmas list. If the answer is no I still have to thank you for this post. My mind is buzzing with "what if I did this, and this....and I could place this in the small compartment. Ok, thanks again

Love this! Just so unique and totally awesome.
I have my configurations sitting waiting for me to finish collecting all the bits and pieces I NEED to decorate them. I am kinda hoarding them and I need to USE them.
This is so fabulous! I adore all of the little details you've included. I don't have a Configurations set yet, so I appreciate the warning... I may not heed it, but I appreciate it, LOL!
EEP! This is gorgeous!
(Did you find them yet?)
I finished my first box this weekend but how very boring it looks now. I love the alternative you made. Thanks for making art and being our inspiration.

I was just telling Timi the other day that I had not seen any sample configurations without all of the pieces in it yet. And then, wow, here you go with probably the most inventive use of them ever. I'll say it again--LOVE it!
Wendy...WOW!
I can't wait to get my hands on some of the configurations too! I just want to try some of your techniques and if I configure myself into a corner..so what?...then I can just keep going until I configure my way out again. You are truly an inspiration! Thanks!
Karen from Canada
Wendy! Go configure what you will do next? You surprise me all the time with your creations. That's a compliment!

Sandra
Awesome project.
OMG! Beautiful! I just love the way it came out.
wow, simply stunning. Love that you went outside the box.
Karen
Can't find the words for expressing 'even more awesome than the usual awesomeness'!
To only use some boxes, yep, but to go 3D by having them on their side: Genius! AND with Art Parts!
That is stunning and unique! It's
amazing that you used only 2 boxes!
Love it!
I love how you didn't limit yourself to the depth of the box. Very clever to bring it out to the front the way you did. gives new meaning to out-of-the-box!!!
This is so stinkin' cute! Love the "out of the box" (hee-hee!) thinking!
Configures that you would come up with something like this!
You took thinking outside of the box to a whole different level…or should I say box:)
Love the tree!!
Love the tree!!

WOW! Love your "outside the box" thinking :) It inspires & encourages me to just cut things up, move them around or tear them apart!
