focusing on home...

this seemed to fit today's blog post...

it's a little art, again made for CHA...

the beautiful colors are mowed lawn, salty ocean & rusty hinge distress stains...
I am liking the new green/blue combo lots...

both backgrounds are stamped with jet black archival...

this new background is on the mowed lawn...
I *think* it may be my new favorite...

and this one is on the salty ocean...

the art parts "HOME" & the tied bow are brand new...
I like to add an eyelet in the ends of the bow...
a Crop-A-Dile cuts thru art parts very easily...
that tiny detail makes a difference...

the fork is one of my Blossom Bucket embellishments...

the primitive house will be available NEXT Month...
I added a tiny bit of coffee archival to make it more vintage...

archivals are AWESOME...
just sayin...

I wanted to highlight the chandelier, so I used
after I stamped it with jet black archival...

the art parts bases are from the large square frame set...
I'll use the open frame on something else...

the smaller square is edged with the
brushed pewter distress stain, to tie it in with the pewter fork...
***a little tip***
I like the dabber top fairly dry for edging...
I usually swipe the excess stain on a paper towel...

next up is another little art, using tim's blueprint stamp...

I'm totally hooked on embossing...
I use it now on at least 75% of my projects...

it makes coloring in the design super simple...
it also adds a tiny detail & another layer for more interest...

the phone needed something to ground it...
so it wasn't hanging in mid air...
I used the same background stamp as above...
just a different portion of it...

this phone stamp can be used with lots of different sentiments/sayings...
for lots of occasions...

the alpha tiles were a perfect fit for my message...

more CHA chat...

***breaking news***

ENABLER ALERT...
all the products I linked to in this post are
IN STOCK!
so...
no teasing you with products that aren't available...

here are a few of the little arts that I made for tim...
using his AWESOME new blueprint stamps...

first up...
I covered my Clearly For Art with paper...
then used jet black archival to stamp the images...

I chose super fine detail embossing powder for the embossing...
this is a much finer powder & it's perfect for thin lines...
like what you see in the blueprint stamps...
and I use it for lots of my sayings...

next I cut them out...
the distress markers make it easy to color in the small areas...
when I liked them, I heated the pieces to make them dimensional...

was a perfect fit...

this shows the dimension a bit better...
the cupcake is layered several times...
and the cupcake tin is actually my gold embossing paste over CFA...
when it was dry, I rubbed the coffee archival pad
over the dry gold paste to tone it down...

the gold stamping & edging was done with
and the little dots are also the metallic stain...

I flicked it on with the detail water brush...
the detail brush makes THE best dots...

I added a bit of rock candy distress glitter to the frosting...
perfect for a sugary effect...

Oh wait...
...maybe this butterfly set is my favorite...

the background is created with distress stains
on Specialty Stamping Paper...
the butterfly is dimensional...
I used Glue N Seal to add SS paper to the CFA...
stamped the butterfly a second time with jet black archival, then colored it with distress markers & stains,
using the detail water brush...

here's a closer look...
the beautiful blue you see in the background is
archivals are AWESOME!

here's an art journal page...
LOVE my new polka dotty stencil LOTS...
LOVE the sentiment stamp & for sure the flower...

the mini heart is the new never enough hearts stencil...

next...
another new art journal...
this time I wanted it to be side opening...
I like that it's square...

same flower as above...
but this time I used the coordinating flower art part...

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Blossom Bucket star knob

this little Bon Appetit makes a fun hostess gift...
it's so simple to customize for any decor...

it's stamped with this new background
I'm so happy to have the mini flourishes...

it will stand because I added a Blossom Bucket metal corner...

how cute are the fork & knife?

here's the result of a scientific experiment...

I was *wondering* if I could use my embossing paste on glass...

I'm happy!

this is a $1.00 glass bottle from Michael's...
but repurpose whatever you have...

paint it with Glue N Seal & let it dry...

then spread the paste over the glass...

I applied it very unevenly,
with the hope that I could make it look like a vintage pottery piece...

when the paste is dry...
you have tons of options...

you can color it with distress paints...
paint dabbers...
distress stains...
alcohol inks...

I used watered down distress paint...
several colors...

and stamped it randomly with a text stamp, using jet black archival...

next I put a small dab of white embossing paste on the craft sheet & added 1 DROP of peeled paint reinker...
to make a green paste...

***remember***
with 48 distress colors...
you have 48 options for paste colors...
just by adding a drop or 2 of reinker...
to the white paste...

that allowed me to add the leaves with green paste thru the new lovely leaves stencil...

for the final step...
I misted it with turquoise Perfect Pearls mist...

here's the result...

oops...
forgot to photo the cork topper...
I spread a bit of paste on the flat top & stamped into it...
then colored it with distress stains...

speaking of embossing paste...

congrats to...

Blogger Redanne said...
Oh yes please! Watched the video and was amazed to see you can stamp into the paste too and remove inks from them too - great techniques to remember.... A x

I LOVE these words...

IN STOCK & SHIPPING...
NOW!

seriously makes me HAPPY...

I'm excited and very thankful for the SUPER FAST shipping
 from the fine folks at
STAMPERS ANONYMOUS...
THANKS ALL for your hard work!

I got several emails yesterday...
letting me know that new products have arrived...

Amy from the Scrapbooking Studio (2 locations in Illinois) got her confirmation & will have ALL the new products in tomorrow!

ePaperie has them IN STOCK & ONLINE now...

I'm expecting to hear from Simon Says any moment...

I thought I'd share some random CHA photos...

here's an art journal page, using this favorite stamp & saying...
and several stencils...
including this cute new bird...
I like that stencils allow you to flip it over
& get the mirror image orientation...

and the new hearts stencil...

here's another art journal page...
with the new polka dotty stencil background...

I love to emboss the flower stamp
then use the distress markers & detail water brush to color it...
the flower makes a great card too,
 for just about any occasion...

next is the cover of the new
I didn't use the frame on the front...

LOVE the new art parts words...
great fun for mixed media & cards too...
totally LOVE how the

you can also see how the veins in the leaves are etched right into the art part...

the new Blossom Bucket embellies
will arrive in just 4 short weeks!
I'm counting the days!
make that MINUTES!

this is the inside of the back cover of the new art journal...

same polka dotty stencil as above,
but this time I inked the heart stencil,
then used a mister with water,
to lift the distress color & create a bleached effect...

the fringe flower is cut from CFArt which I covered with a vintage dictionary page...
the new art parts pen makes a cool border...

did you spot the stamped 490 in the left corner?
that was unplanned & just a fluke...

next up...distress stains...
I demoed these at CHA...
and I *think* I hear lots of distress stain dabbers being opened & poured into misters...

try it with one...

you will LOVE the distress stains in a spray form...
I have NO DOUBT...

you can see them used here...

was our Blossom Bucket make & take
& she was a huge hit!

it was fun for me to see that some people didn't make her exactly like my sample...
but jazzed her up with more rhinestones...
some gals put the small art parts flower in her hair...

THANKS to...
Ted & Michelle for donating the Betty art parts...
THANKS to...
Tim and Ranger for donating the distress markers, distress stains, awesome archival, Glossy Accents & multi medium needed to assemble Betty...
THANKS to...
Cindy for supplying the cute glasses & the mini lips...

here's a fun sample using my new embossing paste...
it creates AMAZING texture...
and gives us so many options...

spread it on a background...
then stencil & stamp over it when dry...

or use the paste with a stencil...
it's so much fun...

I especially LOVE the black paste for my main focal point...
and it's great for borders too...

the leaves were done thru the new leaves stencil with white paste, then inked with peeled paint distress stain & the detail water brush...

here's the link to a CHA demo that Ranger just posted...
this shows the embossing paste used several different ways with SPRAY distress & Perfect Pearls...

May Flaum took some great photos
and has a CHA blog post about studio 490...

THANKS MAY!

I've had several questions about tim's new distress paints, so I thought I'd share why I LOVE them...

they seriously are unlike any paint I've ever used...
the colors are BEAUTIFUL and they dry to an awesome
matte finish...

MATTE...

perfect MATTE...

sort of like the old milk paint...

the paints react just like distress inks when wet,
but are 100% waterproof & permanent when dry...

they are very thin...
and can be opaque if used full strength ...
or they can be made semi opaque by adding some water...

there are no fillers in the paint...
so, once dry, you do not feel them on the surface...
pure...
MAGIC...

you can stamp with them & get AMAZING detail...
that's REALLY cool too!

the dabbers will not dry out or get hard & crunchy...

you can use them over ribbon & fabric
 & unlike other paints...
the ribbon & fabric remain soft,
NOT crunchy & stiff like with normal paint...

they work on every surface that I have tried them on...

think

art parts
Clearly for Art
metal
plastic
glass
fabric
ribbon

you can use them over embossing paste
or mix some in the paste to create custom colors...

you can finger paint with them, and you'll see that they do not stain your hands...

and your fingers can easily be cleaned with water...

DEAR tim & Ranger...
bring on the other 24!
I'll be waiting...

I'll have some fun blog post coming soon using the paints...

NOW...
back to my embossing paste giveaway...

we'll be shipping out embossing paste to...

Blogger Shannon said...
I have been wanting to get some of the paste to try and I just haven't been able to yet. I'd love a chance to try it out. Sounds like CHA was great, glad you had a good time.

CHA was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G...

phew...
we had a W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L...
time at CHA...

I got to see LOTS of favorite friends from all over the world...
some hadn't been at CHA for several years...
so that was very cool to connect again...

CHA is almost like a family reunion...

the only NOT fun thing was the weather...
what gives there?
Illinois was warmer...
seriously???
who can I report this to?
I'd like to file complaint...

anyway...

the days there are full...
VERY full...

we were up before 4am...
and got to bed about 11pm...

I helped in tim's "distress workshop" on Friday &
in addition to playing
with all the yummy distress products,
tim incorporated my embossing paste into the class...

so the lucky 80 attendees got to test drive the paste...

OMG!
they were as excited about the pastes as I am...
that was soooooo cool!

I filmed a few videos showing some ideas
for the pastes and I'll link one at the end of the post...
along with one for the new distress paints...

I thought I'd share a few photos of some
FAVORITE little CHA arts...

here's an art journal page from the new art parts etched journal...
lots of distress stains for the background & distress inks for the leaves stenciling...
the flower is CFArt & uses the white embossing paste with my new layered flower stencil...

I LOVE the new stamped saying...

next is a fun piece I made for tim,
using his new mini blueprint stamps & some oldies too...
the yummy background colors are his new distress paints...

I can not tell you how much fun they are &
 how much I love them...
totally different than any paint I've ever used...

they work on paper
cardstock
grungeboard & grungepaper
art parts
glass
metal and even...

they have a beautiful matte finish...
they react with water when wet,
but are waterproof when dry...
pure MAGIC!

I demoed them at CHA & the more I played...
the more I discovered...
I'll be posting more about them soon...

the butterfly is also on my CFArt...
so it is dimensional & very sturdy...

I used 2 screw eyes for the body...
in a fun way to create a frame...

more embossing paste for the next sample...
I stamped into the paste while it was wet,
just mist your stamp with water before stamping into wet paste...

the distress paints are AWESOME over the pastes...
they create a beautiful matte finish & the paste provides cool texture...
LOVE that Blossom Bucket flower...
LOTS...

I adore this new mini couple...
all wood mounted stamps need a name for the catalog...

meet Fred & Ethel...

the saying fits me perfectly...

SHOPPING really is...
my favorite exercise!

agree?

the Ranger challenge for this CHA was to use Dyan's ink sprays...

here are the challenge RULES...

we each got an 11 x 14 canvas...
black, white and one color ink spray to work with...

I got the beautiful london blue...

we were to use NO other colors...
only the 3 we were sent...

NOTHING (yikes!) was to hang off the canvas...
and the canvas would be displayed vertically...

I seriously can not remember the last time I did NOT use any distress inks on a project...

so this was indeed a huge challenge for me...

I asked the guys at the factory to laser cut some giant sized art parts, so they would be proportionate to the large canvas size...

I combined the london blue ink spray with some white spray to create several shades of the blue for the flower layers & some of the words...

I added my new Blossom Bucket butterfly, the new flower center  & accented the giant scallop trim pieces with the new Blossom Bucket silver berries...

I used my stencil to create the striped borders...
and Dyan's stencils in the background...

here's my canvas...
it's sort of graphic looking...

I'll be sharing lots of tutorials in the coming weeks...
using both the pastes and the distress paints...

but here are 2 videos from CHA...

I only had one major DUH moment...
insert blush...

where I forgot the name of the CFA...
YIKES!!!

I hope it makes you laugh...
this one shows the gold embossing paste
it's already here & shipping!

first is the

and second...

on the home front...

 the day I got back,
 we met with the contractor...
the painter...
picked out the wainscot & trim & new lighting...
Rick scheduled the movers to completely empty out the house on February 1st...
(PRAY FOR ME!)

today we look for paint...
this is the hardest part...

and a new kitchen window...

I don't do well with a mess or chaos...
so again...
PRAY FOR ME!
or maybe you should pray for Rick...
lol...

time to run...
are there any blog friends who would like to try some embossing paste?
I have extra here...

talk to me!

have a GREAT weekend & take time to...

make art!
