remember me?

hey friends!

I didn't plan on being AWOL for so long...

here's a quick update on the progress so far...

as you can see...total chaos...

but they're making good progress...
the wainscot is going up...
love it...

my cute nephew installing the wainscot...

oops...chopped his head off...

sorry Brian!

and this is a fun find...
while out shopping, we ended up in a small town about an hour from us.
It's Plano, Illinois...

anyway...we spoke with a store owner who was telling us that the new Superman movie was filmed in this tiny town...

they closed down all businesses for 2 weeks...
and filmed several segments of the film there...

the photo below shows a building they painted for the movie...
and the owner asked that they not remove the flag, when the filming was finished...

if you click the photo to see it larger, you'll see SMALLVILLE painted in the lower left corner...

if you attend the movie...watch for this!

he said it will be in theaters on June 14th...

we expect the reno to take about 3 more weeks...

my studio is not being redone, but it's behind a zippered plastic deal to keep out the dust...
so I've not ventured in there...

but...I'm hoping to sneak in there this weekend...
not being in there is much harder that I expected...

talk to me...
tell me what you've been doing!
I miss talking about art...

I hope when I get back in the studio...
that I'll remember how to...

make art!

  1. Hey Wendy!
    You are one patient person!!!
Just wanted to tell you that your black paste is awesome. I have been using it then stamping my image on it with embossing ink then using white embossing powder. It looks amazing! I love the texture!

  10. Really feel for you, we are having renos too (6 weeks) but have not moved out - yikes! At least I can craft - I wish I could offer you a chair in my craft room but too far away, alas. I have been using two of Tim's new dies - picture wheel and clipboard and some of your paste too - having a ball! Hope you can get back to making art very soon. Hugs, Anne x

  11. Your reno is looking great I love the wainscotting!
I have made an ATC using your delightful white paste, going to make another one today and add some more of the paste somewhere on it...I love texture. Wish the stencils of yours would arrive so I could use them. I'm so pleased with this ATC, I don't want to trade it...maybe I will give them to my wonderful daughter when she visits next week.
Looking forward to your return to making art and sharing with us! :))

  15. Just let things happen...if you're meant to be in your art space then you will. In the mean time, take some deep breaths..outdoors where there's no construction dust...and enjoy yourself. You've certainly earned some down time. Loving your new stamps and stencils. Just made a card and will share it soon - used the newest thread set.

  16. Your house is going to be beautiful! Just be glad you are able to be out of all of the dust and confusion. We lived in our house when the kitchen was ripped apart and it was not easy. I have been to Plano. Thanks for sharing that picture. Used to be a great bead store there!

  21. We could never forget you!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting a little art done while fighting being sick and being crazy busy after our business burnt down last month. Things are settling down a bit... we are in a temporary shop, hoping to start rebuilding soon, and just trying to get some work done. You could never forget how to make art!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
