happy Friday!
here's a little tip that I don't think I've shared before...
after I had my pieces all glued together for this sample,
I decided that I wanted to add a hitch fastener to accent the stem...
why didn't I think of it BEFORE I glued it all?
duh...
this area has 3 layers of art parts, so the long screw wouldn't work this time...
don't fret...
enter plan B...
use an awl to make a hole, where you want to add the hitch fastener...
put a toothpick in the hole...
cut the toothpick to the approximate length...
test drive the hitch fastener top
to determine how long the toothpick should be...
if too long...
trim off a bit more...
add a drop of Multi Medium to the hole in the hitch fastener...
the top will dry secure & will sit flush on the art,
just as if you had used the screw...
plan B = SUCCESS!
I discovered this tip before tim came out with the long screws...
I have used this method with the faucet knobs, clock keys & the curio knobs too...
and this works well on thin material,
where the screw hole would be too large...
like the thin stem above...
I love the long screws...
they are a cool tool & can easily reach thru 2 layers of art parts...
and you still have enough length to screw on the top portion...
**********************
before each new release...
I get lots of questions and requests...
more backgrounds please...
YOU BET!
how many new stencils do you have?
I could have done 40 but...
the magic number is 10!
yes...love love love stencils...
I'd love to see more of your smaller sets, for lower budget shopping...
STAY TUNED!
any new embossing pastes coming?
I *think* I SEE A NEW ONE in the studio...
can you show us more card samples?
lots of the samples I post can be made into cards...
I usually use art parts for the base of my project, because after CHA, the samples travel to all the conventions with Ted, so they need to be extra sturdy...
tag art can also be the inspiration for a card...
would you consider making "outdoor scenes"
like with trees/mountains, but your style...
sorry...it's not happening! lol...
mustaches are so popular, you should make an art part mustache...
hey...I did those about 2 years ago...
there's a mustache stamp on this set & on this one too
& I did 2 mini art parts mustaches too...
I'd love to see more of your flower stamps...
ME TOO!
STAY TUNED!
and they are so cute!
when do you show us everything?
I'm not sure of the exact date just yet...
probably around July 10th-ISH...
