more on Monday...

I hope your weekend was GREAT...

LOTS got done here...
a MAJOR project for Maya Road...
checked off the To-Do list...

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me ALLLLLLL weekend...
It's not good to be OLD & SLOW...

I'm HAPPY with the results & can't wait to show you...!

Let's get right to the Q & A...

#1...I'm confident we're finally getting our houndstooth...what about a crossword puzzle?

The hounds tooth was requested frequently...
& I wanted one REALLY BAD...

I actually had it done for last summer, but I cut it for another background...

BUT...
it's IN for this release.
It's @ the top of my " love it " list...
Crossword puzzle..nope sorry...

#2...Well, given the shopping phrase from the other day, and this dress, I'm guessin' there is a whole Shopping Art set, or the Art of Shopping, lol. And given your fettish for shoes with flowers, I'm thinkin' there's a shoe stamp coming. Am I getting warm?

No Lori...I KNOW where you live & it was MINUS 15 yesterday...so you're NOT getting warm in Illinois...ha!

but...CUTE set names...no shoe stamp either.

#3...I saw that you sent a bird in a gift package... can we buy them? Where? I so want to design my own bird!! :-)

GUESS WHAT...Becky T. said...
For being a blog friend & for taking the time to leave a COMMENT...

I'll SEND YOU ONE! Just send me your mailing info...
see...comments are oh sooooooooo good...
I'm just sayin...you never know when someone will WIN something...
randomly..............

#4... I can see why you like the tumbled glass/bundled sage combo. The stamps you used look great too. Will I be able to purchse my book from you again?

YOU BET! I'll post when I have them here...

#5... I'm spacing out what i can get immediately...out of the 12 new ink colors...i want to start with 6, so I can buy your stamps, so which 6 do you like?

YIKES...that's a HARD one!
All 12 are really awesome...

When working on CHA samples & book projects, I kept reaching for...
tumbled glass, bundled sage, barn door, rusty hinge,
forest moss, pumice stone and wild honey...
I know...it's 7...but the best I can do!
oh wait........stormy sky is cooool too...
and then there's...stop me!

#6...can you share what exactly your job is @ CHA? I've never been, so I have no idea. Is it really fun or just work?

Sure...I demo in the Ranger booth...so I show products & lots of ink techniques...ways to combine products...

Ranger also videos a demo of a technique for their website...(lots of free info & videos)

I also help with booth set up & take down...and

I'm a helper in Tim's workshops...LOVE IT! That's where store owners get LOTS of free NEW stuff from Ranger...the excitement in the room is sooooooo fun!

You can imagine booth set-up & take down is major work...it's like moving your whole house FULL of stuff...
BUT...we laugh & have fun...they are GREAT people...
so it's fun work.

#7...Like the polka dot dress...but why not make a smaller acrylic cover for the new stamps? Seems like a waste not being able to use 1/3 of the space....ok, in a previous life I was a scientist which can be a 1st cousin to an engineer...I love it when things fit together...or is there going to be even smaller stamps sets with only one hole in the plastic card? The mind boggles...

Hmmm...I'm thinking it will look like an altered book...random sized pages...I think I'll like it...

BUT...
You just never know what MIGHT show up @ CHA...summer...

#8...12 sets? I'll have to rob a bank...pleeeeeeeeeezeeee..where should I start? Do you have definite favs?

I sure do...ALL 12!!!!!!!!!

#9...
Love the dress and all the background patterns! Cute belt! Hmm, looks like twill, but not exactly ... something new? I hope we earn lots more peeks!

No...the belt is a gingham ribbon from Maya Road...it's just folded in half to fit...

OK...for today's peek...
it's in the top 3 favorites!

and since you commented LOTS...
here's another...

News flash...note to tim...
MY RANGER got "your mouse"...

He carries him around like a baby & sleeps with him...
we laughed all weekend @ where we found the critter...

Gotta run...
I hope you'll stop back tomorrow...

It's time to...
make (CHA) art...
wendy
ps...don't forget...
comments earn peeks...
LOTS of comments earn LARGER peeks...
like a whole stamp or even a whole SAMPLE!

YIKES...sorry for the screwed up font sizes..blogger isn't cooperative today & won't let me change it...

  2. I love the bottle stamp !! I really really like the bird that is tooooooo cool. I wish I could go to CHA .. I heard the one in Chicago in July is only for shop owners .. why won't they let us little people in ??? That one is close enough to drive to :( Thanks for the peeks .. can't wait for more !! Have a great day ...
PS. Your cat is toooo cute, sweet baby !!

  4. I'm staying at home instead of shopping so I can save $$$ for all the new stuff and while I'm at home I'm trying to use "stuff" I already have to make room for all the new stuff! Will this ever end? -I hope not.

Keep up the good work and the LARGER peeks!

  5. I feel my $$$'s slipping through my fingers...I love shopping, too you know! Love the new ink colors and stamps together! Hope to see more new samples tomorrow! The cat and mouse is adorable!

  7. Love your cat...you know what they say about cats and writers? If a cat won't sit on it...it's not any good! Any correlation for artists? Also like the bottle of inspiration! Course what I want to know, is what is in that bottle? I can imagine with the cold weather you guys are having that it just might be 100proof something...it would be cool if it was a set of bottle stamps...different sizes and words...like creativity...more time...more money for art supplies...and I can imagine an Ehrlenmeyer flask with "mixing up some art"...(ok, I was a chemist...)...so many fun shapes to be used...test tubes, round-bottomed flasks, beakers, graduated cylinders...and you can't forget a magic wand to make it all work. Because any good chemist knows it's all magic anyway...if the molecules don't like you...forget it. If they do, then things work that shouldn't have. Molecules have a mind of their own. Like cats.

  8. Loving these peeks Wendy ... Keep 'em coming!

  9. Poor Mickey. Had to laugh at the cat. I was trying to work on some ATC cards yesterday and my cat kept coming over and sitting on top of my work. Needless to say I would then have to take a break and give my Sox, so love. I think she is feeling a little bit guilty about biting my 10 yr old daughter and making her sick. Love the muted colors on the sneak peak with the bottle. Can you share what colors those are?

  10. Wendy -

Love the bottle, the polka dot background, the hand, the verse on the bottle. Adore the bird, and really loving the flowers next to it, so sweet. But, want to know my favorite thing on your blog today? Ranger, he is just the sweetest baby and I think its cute the way he is holding on to Mickey.

Thank you for the sneak peeks. Can't wait to get my sticky little hands on your new stuff.

  13. I really like birds - my craft room has birds and birdhouses all around the top of the room and spring is my favorite time so I will LOVE the new bird stamp. We are now remodeling the newly remodeled craft room in my new house-to-be (after I sell my house and get married). My fiance has decided I need more room to accomodate all the new stamps, ink and good stuff I will be bringing in. I of course didn't argue. (smile)

  14. Your cat's name is Ranger??? How stinkin' funny is that? Love the bottle...I could sure use a bottle of art inspiration sometimes. Today is not one of those days though. And the bird??? LOVE it. More peeks please!!! One of these days, just to freak you out, I am going to fill a comment form only with the words "random comment" filling the post!! Neener, neener. p.s. In the 30's here this week!! Woohoo!!

I'm bummed I'm going to miss this CHA.. but I'll be in Chicago. We met in one of Tim's classes last CHA ... you're awesome!! Have fun in CA!

Loving that bird and a measure slip! Right on!

  22. No apologies needed for the random font sizes. You should never apologise for things like this: claim it as an artistic statement! I know I thought it was until you apologised!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love the Q & A's and the sneak peeks! Is the bottle stamped on vellum or clear acetate?

Love Ranger and his new "baby! Too cute!

    Have fun making art!

  24. Love the peeks. Bigger dots it looks like. They are cool. So is everything else. Ranger is so cute. My one cat Eli goes after my daughter's beanie babies. He carries a bunny and tosses it in the air. Not very nice of him so we had to take it away.

  25. Art is the best medicine! The medicine bottle is fantastic, along with the dress and the large polka dot background. Ranger certainly has good taste in mice! Elaine K.

  32. Is the count 5 new stamps? The more I see the more it confirms I need all 12 of the new colors of ink and the re-inkers. Yum! I understand about the cat too. I can't leave any small stamps or craft tools out because they become his. One of his favorite pieces is the cover from my Tim Holtz scissors. I find it eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG! I love polka dots and forms too. Will this form be available?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cute cat! I love the bird stamp and what looks like the medicine bottle. Very cool. So do you have the birds for sale. I am pretty sure we would all like to alter our very own. Keep the sneak peaks coming.

  36. OK, robbing a bank doesn't feel right to me, so I'd best be getting a really nice tax refund this year. That's all I'm saying.

  44. Love the peeks and can't wait for the full release. You are too humble in saying that you..."demo stuff at the Ranger booth"... I was lucky enough to go to Orlando last summer and I SAW you! Actually witnessed the stamping magic and have kept the custom WV tag you made for me! So anyway, you do alot more than "demo". You are da' stampin' bomb!

  50. Wow, Wendy, I love the bottle stamp and the bird, I know that they will both look great on grungepaper with some embossing. It must be amazing to see your ideas go from your mind, to paper and then to rubber. I can only imagine. We are so lucky that you are so creative! Hugs from the beach! Dawn in SC

  56. 1. love the bottle... already blown the top off of it, reeling with ideas... guess it was full of inspiration.. can't wait to get my hands on it.
2 thought it couldn't get much better after the dress... now there's a bird... but i think the dress is still my #1,
3 love the kitty's name, very fitting! My moms cat used to carry a pound puppy around, sat it next to his bowl so he had someone to dine with. Yes we bought him a pound kitten... he preferred the dogs and only black or choc brown. He had 7 in all.
4 picking new fav colors... oh man, is that possible?

LIZZ S (not quite as busy as you. taking a small break from the Crop or Craft prep. I'll be done in time for CHA, I work cheap... well sort of... some people work for the weekend... i work for stamps, and inks and embellishments and tools!)
