Rick, Rachel, Ranger...and RUBBER??

Happy Tuesday!

First...the Rick update...the report wasn't quite as good as we expected it to be. The repair looks great, but now there is a weak spot in his retina. So...the options are to do nothing...or...to weld the weak spot with a laser...This causes a small area of vision loss peripherally. The main complication is that it can affect the repair that was just done. So...we'll go back on Friday & see what the surgeon has decided. We're thinking good thoughts here...
So, until then...still no reading, lifting or horses. He's a much better patient than I would ever be...that's a fact!!

Now on to some fun stuff...

Rachel gave in!! HA!!! Here's what she said...

Rachel Greig said...
ok, I can't wait either.... show us the whole thing now!!! :)

So...here's the whole card, made with Darkroom Door stamps and some grungeboard. I love big grungey flowers, but let me tell you...this little flower was fun.

I stamped the tulip on plain grungeboard twice & layered it to get this effect...It's colored with distress inks (fired brick & peeled paint)...Here's a closeup of the tulip.

Now on to the Ranger development...

Instead of working in the Maya Road booth @ CHA in July, I'll just be popping over there to visit my friends.

What will I be doing you ask???

With 100% support from Maya Road...(they're great people!)...

I'm absolutely THRILLED to say that I will be...

doing demos for...

RANGER!!!

Every day!!

In their booth...@ CHA!!!
I am soooooooo excited!!

I'll also be a helper for tim & Claudine in their classes on Thursday. That sounds like fun too.

This is better than CHRISTMAS!!

Now on to the rubber part of the title...should I do it today???

NOPE...I changed my mind...I think this post is long enough!
Come back tomorrow....PLEASE!

This will be THE NEWS that I've been teasing about since February.

Finally...I can spill the beans!!

Tomorrow...

Any guesses???

Thanks for stopping by!

I played and made this, shopping alert & other random news

I have been drooling over this one lonely flower since the day it arrived about 6 weeks ago. I only got one of the "jewel ribbon blossoms" in my Maya Road goodie box and it was making me crazy trying to find just the right spot for it. Yesterday I decided to actually USE it & not hoard it, just so I could admire it. This is by far THE COOLEST/classiest ribbon flower on the market. Trust me...I do know flowers!

I started by swiping a sheer round scallop page with a Peach Bellini dabber. How cool is that name? Sounds like a dessert & makes me want a huge bowl...anyway...back on track.....

Once again...more of the trinkets elements metal flowers and blossoms, scrolls from the Vineyard tin, and the stamp is from my friend Rachel Greig. I got that baby and the one on the back, personally delivered @ CHA last summer. The background is one of my most favorite/most used Stampers Anonymous stamps...newspaper scraps # U2-943. LOVE it!

I used a journaling piece from K & Co as the base for the thanks stamp.

Here's the back. The number border stamp on the bottom is also from Rachel. The stamped round chipboard is from the Maya Road foundations tin.

Now here's what you REALLY need to see...a closeup of this jewel ribbon blossom. Do you agree?? TO DIE FOR BEAUTIFUL??

Now for the random news.......

I just tracked my box of CHA samples...MEMPHIS?? WHAT??? That's the wrong way, Mr Fed-Ex...California is WEST! SCARRY!!

I talked to ART GODDESS Robin Beam the other day & got this Ranger CHA scoop...

They are coming out with a new pigment ink! Adirondack Pigment Ink Stamp Pads will start out with the coordinating Lights/Brights/Earthtones for the following colors: Cranberry/TerraCotta/Butterscotch/Bottle/Denim/Eggplant/Pitch Black & SnowCap. She loves them & told me they are perfect on chipboard. You apply them with the same Inkssentials blending tool that's used for the distress inks. Definitely added to my shopping list.

Ranger will also be selling an Inkssentials Craft Spinner, which will hold eight of the Inkssentials Blending Tools and tidy up your work space. CHECK... on my shopping list too. I like tidy.

Check out Robin's blog to see what cool things she's doing...

HERE IT COMES......................

*** SHOPPING ALERT***

*** SHOPPING ALERT***

If I haven't given you enough ideas for spending your $$, here's another. I have no affiliation, nor do I know her...but I LOVE this book. TONS of eye candy. You can find it here. It's well worth your $$.

5 days 'til I head WEST...yikes...still have plenty to do.
I better get going on more business cards.

I hope you've enjoyed these samples & that they inspire you. Use them as a starting point, add your style and...

MAKE ART!

Mono MONA.........

Somedays I'm easily amused. I like to see how many stamps I can incorporate onto a single simple card. This one uses 4. Tim's clock was a perfect fit to use as a halo for Mona. I LOVE it when things work as planned.

For a real treat, make sure you visit tim's blog. WONDERFUL eyecandy & REALLY good giveaways!! He is amazing!

Blogger has me baffled. Some folks can click on the photos to enlarge them & others get a screen to open the file to see them. I've visited some friends blogspot blogs & I'm not able to click on them either. Drives me crazy!! So...if some kind soul comes up with a solution here...I'll give them a nice package of goodies!!! That's a PROMISE!

Here's a lovely photo...NOT!! This was the view yesterday from my studio windows and actually every window in the house. But wait...there is NO VIEW!!! Ice everywhere. Winter in Illinois is NOT fun! Rachel dared me to open a window for 5 seconds & take a photo for her. NEVER! HA!
My neice was born 25 years ago today & believe it or not, the temperature was 90 degrees. Thought I'd throw in a little random tid-bit!

Bears game today @ 3:15, so I'll be working on my Maya Road CHA projects 'til then.

Have a good Sunday & MAKE ART...or shop!

Remember the sneak peek...

from a long time ago??? Well here's the full shot. This is my "thank you gift" for Robin Beam, for all the hard work that she did to get ready for Ranger U. I love the large alphabet stamp that is made by my friend Rachel Greig in Australia. It worked that I could highlight Robin's initials & mine. FUN!! It's a shadowbox frame that is 8 x 8.
The chipboard flowers and the circles (foundations tin) are from Maya Road. The "think outside the box" stamp is from Mrs. O'Leary's. I used Ranger's Distress Inks...vintage photo & faded jeans. Bet that's not a surprise. Tim teased me about being the blue & brown queen...so I'll try my best to use some other colors...SOMEDAY soon. Moving on ....to the alcohol inks!!
