art parts and answers...
+1.jpg)

As if I didn't already love the paper rosette - this idea of trimming them down and layering them - STUNNING. I can't wait 'til this die is available! Hope the Chemo goes well - as if cancer isn't bad enough, chemo is even worse... hang in there - we're all pulling for him (and you). ~ Ellen xx

I played with LOTS of stuff...
it's the perfect storage for...
studio 490 stamps!
I'll send it to Ted for the Stampers Anonymous convention booth...
and it will travel all over the country...
just like Ted does...
it's the new small size binder...
too cute!
it's almost done...not quite...
but I decided to show you today...
since I was desperate for some photos to share...
NOW WHAT?
this is...SHOCKING...
Did you notice...
no distress inks?
Can you tell the difference??
These inks are opaque looking, because I used Ranger's pigment inks to color the grungepaper stamped embellishments I made for this cover.
The pigment inks coordinate PERFECTLY with this tim paper.
FATE or did tim plan this???
what's your guess?
Check out butterscotch, lettuce & terra cotta...
they are awesome inks...
Looking @ the details...
so...when is a heart NOT a heart?
well...
when it's transformed into...
leaves...
it's inked with lettuce pigment and stamped with my tiny text register stamp & jet black archival...
and embellished with Sakura glaze pen dots...NEXT...
this was fun...
I tapped Perfect Medium onto the game spinner & added some distress embossing powder to add texture...
heat to set...
REMEMBER...heated metal gets hot...be very CAREFUL!
Perfect Medium is very sticky, so it's my favorite for embossing...
in addition to making very COOL watermarks...
here I used tim's Sizzix on the edge die to make a border...
more dimension and...
a place to add...
stamped stuff.
NEWSFLASH...
eclecticpaperie has just added a whole tab full of the stuff you NEED to make art...
it's the stuff I use frequently...
my MOST FAVORITE supplies...
the tab is called...
wendy's ART PARTS!
They call it "convenient shopping"...
it has each company I LOVE...
be warned...
they are enablers...
sweet faces...but enablers...
they are making it EASY TO SHOP!!!
And speaking of SHOPPING...
tim's sizzix texture fades will FINALLY be arriving THIS WEEK...
YIPPEE!!!
They're well worth the wait...
because the are unique & over the top AWESOME...
Get 'em before they're GONE...
and you're sad...
and I'll close with the usual...
just in a little different format...

thanks...thanks and more thanks!
A MILLION thank YOU's for all the wonderful comments about the Paper Crafts blog hop.
I TOLD you it would be really fun!
Talk about amazing contributions from everyone involved....
I was very impressed! It's fun to see what others SEE.
and MORE thank you's to everyone who has signed up for this Saturday's workshops @ Scrapbook Friend'z, in Bloomington, Illinois ...
WITHOUT even seeing one of the projects...
YIKES...
You guys are very TRUSTING!
Last I heard...there were only 2 seats left. REALLY TRUSTING...
Ok...on Saturday we'll start with this very fun...
ALL grunge...
perfectly practical pocket journal...
and then after lunch we'll be making this...???
Well since you haven't seen the final finished real deal...
I'll just show you some peeks...
I LOVE the new memo pins...a LOT!
Oh look...the saying is a perfect fit for the 1 1/2 inch square memory frame...
who planned that???
and yes...the glaze pen dots are on top of the memory glass for more dimension...

one final peek...
we fired up the Big Shot Express & cut LOTS of textured grungeboard with tim's new Sizzix alterations regal crest die...
You KNOW what's coming next...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dies...
SERIOUSLY...
LOVE them...
and I LOVE to use my background stamps over them!
See that peek of yellow in the lower right corner?
It's my new favorite...butterscotch pigment...
I've been using it on everything...with the blending tool...what FUN!
OK...gotta run...
LOTS to do here...
The painters will start Monday for a redo of the main bath (getting rid of the wallpaper...I'm so OVER wallpaper...loved it...now it's out of here...), our bedroom, the office and the laundry room.
I HATE chaos...but I think that's on the agenda for next week...
I may need a mojito for medicinal purposes only...just thinking ahead...
so...after the painting is done...
we can FINALLY bring my Christmas gift home...
I been waiting a LONG time for sure. My brother was teasing me that if we didn't get it here soon...it would need to be refinished again... YIKES!!! I GOT the hint!
Off to finish the kits and write some instructions for Saturday...
I hope to recruit Rick to help with stamping...
if we can crank the kits out...
and get the supplies all packed...
I may be able to squeeze in a few minutes to...
make art!

answers and angels...
1. Love the Perfectly Practical Pocket Journel. Will that be an Orlando class???
Yes it is...
2. Whose booth are you demoing in at the Columbus show???
Stampers Anonymous!
3. love the idea of the perfectly practical pocket journal (say that 10 times fast). OK I have to ask what color did you the background stamping? I share your love for that bundled sage- gotta have it!
That would be my new favorite combo...
tumbled glass, bundled sage and brushed corduroy.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3 used together!
4. I see in your ink drawer that you have the adirondack inks too. I have them, but since the distress i forgot them.
Do you have any ideas to share using the dye inks?
I DO! That's a post for another day! Stay tuned.
I'll figure something out!
5. I was sure I knew ALL your stamps. What sheet is the text butterfly on? You used it on the class photo. I'm on the hunt.. I must have it.
Well...if you have my large butterfly stamp...
you already do.
This is the large butterfly stamped on grungepaper & the back is stamped with the new register stamp...
It's my current most reached for favorite background.
I used the butterfly back instead of the polka dot front...
to change up the look.
6. I LOVE the hanging & the book...can you do those in the store or only at conventions?
Hmmm...since I got this question 4 times yesterday, I'm thinking...
I guess we could just make it a 4 hour store class & do both. I aim to please!
7. THANK YOU for the larger roses stamps. They are so wonderful and are a great addition. I like the 3 sizes together.
Thanks! I REALLY like them too. I was surprised @ how much easier they are to make being large. I REALLY wanted to make a REALLY mini rose, but it's a REALLY a pain... especially that inside piece...
I said bad words...
but you just never know...
Ok...
that was the answers part of the title...
as for the angels...
there's only one coming...
but ANGEL sounded stupid in the title...
so I used ANGELS instead...
hey...it's my blog...
so I make the rules!
ANYWAY...I had so much fun making the art chick into an angel, I had to re-do her again in different colors...
the background is butterscotch and denim pigment inks...
with a splash of sunflower sparkle Perfect Pearls.
The plaid background was stamped with olive archival...
The chick is adorned with barn door flowers and a stormy sky butterfly.
Rick commented that he liked the "chink-a-do-ola" hanging from her hat.
This is aka a Maya Road chandelier trinket bead, dear hubby!
This is the back of the grungepaper...
the textured canvas side stamped with the register stamp.
I had an ahhh ha moment & realized that the small scroll is a perfect fit for the large butterfly.
I like it...
it wasn't planned...
it's...
just FATE!
Ok...got kits to make...
LOTS of kits...
I'll get them ready so if you're in a class of mine...
you will be able to...
(get this...!)
make art!

all you need is love...
I hope you took time to play with the pigment inks...
it's a VERY COOL & VERY FUN technique...
Here's another tag I made for my demo table...
same technique, but this uses just denim (on sale!)for the background.
The flower ( a new tim Sizzix die) is inked with butterscotch pigment(it's on sale too!) and the stem is stamped with lettuce.
The background is stamped with olive archival...
you can see that the olive REALLY makes the saying pop, when stamped in jet black archival.
If both were black...it would be flat & boring...
I stamped this background and this one with butterscotch...
over the flower layers...
Another pigment combo that I LOVE...
red pepper & lettuce...
I want to use the scallop stamp on EVERYTHING...
I think I will!
now about those wonderful comments...
Rick said...
