random weekend ...

blah...blah...blah...

Still NO email on the computer...

Thank God for the Blackberry...

I didn't have the 2 HOURS to spare to call HUGHESNET...

This ISSUE happens about twice a year...
they tell me that my firewall (Computer Associates) won't allow any mail to be received...

Computer Associates blames it on HUGHESNET.
INTERESTING...NOT!

This make me NUTS...

and after 2 hours on the phone...
I'm REALLY over the top nuts...
what a waste of time...

I know the routine...
first they tell me we don't have an account...

WHAT?
We've had their service for 10+ years...pay a monthly bill, but we have no account?
SERIOUSLY!

Then they tell me it's really NOT their problem...
There is NO WAY to fix it...

REALLY??? After I start my ranting...
and they figure out I'm NOT going away...

2 hours later...

they do something & magically, it gets fixed.
IMAGINE THAT!

My blood pressure is soaring just thinking about calling them.

TRUST ME...it's more fun to have the flu!

on to other things...

the TV's got delivered on Friday & installed...
yep...2...who knew that the bedroom & family room should be the same brand?

MUST be a guy thing???

new satellite dish installed too...

this necessitated a redo of the family room to accomodate the tv...
I LOVE home decor stuff!

and...

the shipping & receiving department was busy this weekend...

why...YES...

I REALLY DO LOVE FLOWERS...
LOTS of them...

look @ these Maya Road beauties...
just the PERFECT colors...

and we also received a restock of 90000 Maya Road mini alphas...well...almost...

we use LOTS of these guys in my workshops...
I like to mix 2 different fonts...
to make the words more interesting...

what is it about minis that attracts me?

YUMMY YUMMY colors of Maya Road felt flowers...

PERFECT for this Pink Paislee "mini" 6 x 6 paper pad...
it's called Queen Bee...

the pad has AWESOME designs & colors...
I fell in LOVE with it!

the base will be Maya Road's wavy layer book...
I think?

or maybe this cutie...

Maya Road's square canvas binder album???

Hmmm...decisions...decisions...
then the next decision...

to ink?? or to mist???
I'm thinking...BOTH would be good!

what else???

I exited the studio for 2 seconds yesterday and come back to this...

I leave you with Rick's version of art...

He works for Bud!
Have a GREAT Monday...
make art!

Drooling over all the mini alphas...I'm in the market for something tiny!

Hi Wendy -

Well it sound like a productive weekend, well except for the email stuff - LOL! Why is it that in order to get somebody to pay attention to us we have to bonkers on them? Love all the flowers and I've been looking around at the mini-alphas, just can't decide which ones I want - LOL!

I agree, the TV thing must be a male thing - my husband had to do the same thing - new TVs x 2 same brand in both family room and bedroom! And btw, we had to get the biggest ones that would fit on the chosen walls! :-)

What fun goodies to arrive! I feel for you with the internet. I have been there and don't like it either.

Love all of the flowers! I hope you can get the email thing fixed. What a royal pain. I hate when technology goes bonkers since I am not that great with computers. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Well....if you don't like the state of "nuts" perhaps you should consider just going with two different companies...after all, you've given them more than enough time to get their act together and they don't seem to be able to do it. Life is too short for all this "sturm and drang" and from experience I can say it's worth the effort to do the change and find peace again(think long term health benefits). Just saying...the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We all find ourselves doing it(I mean how many chances are you supposed to give somebody?) so I've come to some understanding of my personal I don't want to do this anymore...which is a combination of how mad am I and how long(minutes...hours...days....?)am I complaining about this? It's a personal thing...we all have different tolerances. But there are lots of businesses out there that want your business, will appreciate it, and will have their act together. We all are creatures of habit and the idea of change can be daunting because of that. The other rule of thumb? Things I don't want to be wishing I did or didn't do on my deathbed at 80...like not getting the stress out of my life when I could...whatever you do I hope it gets better. For some future stamp set you might want to make one with your husband in mind...TV set, Budweiser(or made-up) beer cap, etc. Actually the cap is a great red. But was he making art or was he ever so gently hinting that you needed to sit down somewhere, feet up, beer in hand, and let the cares of the day dissipate and join the dust bunnies on the floor? And then there's chocolate...

I really do feel your pain. Once many many years ago I suddenly stopped getting pay checks and had to convince the people in payroll that I was, in fact, alive and well. To quote one of the workers, "well, we have you here dead."
Apparently the fact that I was in front of her and breathing normally and had official ID wasn't good enough.
Gotta love a bureaucracy. NOT!
Can't you switch providers?
Oh, enough of that....love all the new goodies and can't wait to see what you do with them.

Sorry, I got off my original train of thought. I love those flowers. Are they available in stores now?

Ok, I'll reiterate, Verizon Wireless in Peru. Tell them you want MIFI2200. It's wonderful. We've had it for several months and no issues, and about as fast as broadband. And as for the new Maya Road goodness, well, it's awesome as usual!

I can sympathise with you on internet connections. You phone, they tell you its your computer or router. You doubble check everything, spend ages on the phone and then miraculously it starts working. Its always their end!!!
Anyway Rick's very talented!!

I empathize with your internet dilemma. It proves the need to make art, it is therapeutic.

Good luck with the internet people.

Maybe the two TVs will breed and have baby TVs! (If so, I'll give one a good home!)

How do you get any work done with all that fabulous stuff arriving? I'd just want to lay it all on the floor and roll round in it!

Have fun.

I'm so sorry you had to have a fit on the phone! It is ever so more convincing when you rant in person! But they are probably in India or China listening to your complaints! lol Love the flowers, and the alpha's...even think Rick is pretty smart working and designing with "Bud"! Yep, I agree, ink 'em and spray 'em! Now, go make us some new art, Wendy, so we can make some new art, too!

Wendy, if things did not cause a problem now & then we would not appreciate it when it goes right! lol

Rick is a talented man! he did not even bend up the cap getting it off! Not everyone can do that!

Love the papers, and other goodies! hugs, Pat Smith

a bottle cap can always be altered. but hey... it was a cool idea. after all, art is in the eye of the beholder. and rick is on his way to developing a signature art style. watch out studio 490. rickbudart is coming.
