Stamps, ink & another stamp question

Just a little peek @ the distress inks techniques class I'll be teaching in Rockford on Friday. I'll be repeating this later in the month @ For Keeps Sake in St. Louis Missouri. It's a fun class and it's actually a mini Ranger U. We play with lots of Ranger products, like the distress inks, distress embossing powders, crackle paint, mini misters & more. This class helps you use these products to their full potential.

THANKS so much to all of you for the comments about your favorite Stampers Anonymous stamps. Keep them coming...you've got 'til Monday! We have 71 comments...we NEED to get to 100, so only 29 more. You CAN do it!!
************
Now here's another stamp question. Let's talk about what type of stamps you prefer to buy. Are you a "wood mounted only" chick??? Love the "cling stamps"??? Do you only use one type?? If you LOVE the image, but it's wood mounted and you prefer cling...do you buy it??
What about the clear acrylic stamps??? Comments??

Inquiring minds want to know...
I'll be waiting to hear your responses.
THANKS!

Hmmm...since I just started playing with stamps, I think I'm a little "heavy" on the acrylic/clear side.

But I just purchased a whole bunch of Stampin' Up products and all are wood so what does that make me?! Two-faced?! LOL!!!

Long-winded answer...depends on the image (how's that for middle of the road! LOL!!!).

I like whatever is cheapest...I will modify my stamping MO so long as I can acquire more! So I have mounted, unmounted, unmounted with EZmount, clear...you name it!

I use all of them. If I like the image enough I will buy it. My preference is definately rubber cling stamps, next clear, then wood mounted. My stamp collection is already overflowing so I try to buy in a way that I will still be able to fit in my craft room.

Good morning!
Stamp Question: My favorites are red rubber - mounted or not...but I use the wood mounted the most..
I also have acrylics... and like everyone else, if I like the image I will buy the stamp!

SA Fave Stamp: I have two favorites! ACK! I'm going to have to go with V1-926 'Leaf Study'. Reminds me of my love for pressed flowers..and the nature girl in me... It's a cool stamp...

The great stamp debate:to mount, or not to mount, that is the question...and I am a real swinger when it comes to this-yes, I go both ways!

Honestly, I dont care about the the type. If I like it enough I buy it. Wood makes up for most of my stamps simple coz they have been in the market the longest. Priya

I prefer cling mounted rubber stamps. If I buy a wood mounted it is because it was on a good sale and then I remount it when I get home. As far as clear stamps.....they are okay but I feel like the rubber stamps will be around looking good when the clear ones have turned yellow and sticky!

I like the ease of using clear rubber stamps, but I like the durablity of the red rubber stamps. I find the red rubber just gives a better stamped image even.

another SA favorite stamp... floral design cube. Could make some really cool pattern paper with it.

oops, that should be clear acrylic stamps. If they could find a way to combine the acrylic and rubber I'd be a happy stamper, lol!

Great question Wendy. For me, I don't let the fact of wood/acrylic deter me from buying the stamp if I really love it. :-) However, I think my wood stamps leave a 'crisper' image than the acrylic..The acrylic are really, really nice when using alphabets and such because of the ease of seeing where it's going. :-) I love them both for different reasons. :-)

If it's a stamp - I'll use it! I do prefer red rubber on cling though - because I love rubber more than acrylic, and I love saving storage space too! But I have loads of rubber wood mounted, rubber cling mounted and clear acrylic.

I would rather use a cling mounted rubber stamp. I started out with the clear stamps and still pick them up because I find them fun. But when I want detail and form I want a rubber stamp, but I perfer to be able to store it simply rather than all the wood blocks that I do have.

Hello, Michelle...we are still sucking! LOL I think I've listed so many at this point the best thing is to just say SA ROCKS!!

Wendy,
I buy any stamps that I fancy. Speaking of fancy...I just bought a set of 12x12 acrylic stamps by Fancy Pants...and some of them are huge, and I don't know where I can find an acrylic block big enough..the biggest one I have is 5x5..I think.

Anyways...I am really getting into stamping, and whatever catches my eye...I want! :D

i love any stamp .... wood mounted was how i started out ... now the acrylics have such a huge range and they are easier to store...

Wood with Rubber.....I have a few unmounteds and they just don't get used....I prefer the crisp image I get with my rubber wood mounted stamps.
I have a storage system that allows me to have currently seasonal stamps on the wall above my stamping area and the others are stored in labeled drawers rotated out during each season.

Yes, I do love wood mounted stamps. I do buy this and that but, love wood the best. I think there is a difference between the two. Wendy, on a side note, check out pyzam.com they do custom blogger pages. You will love it.
